Do the newer non vintage Italian and French bikes have standard threads on
the drive side?

+shyflirt1 How do you deal with stripped spoke nipples on a bicycle wheel?
What tools can be used for them? Can a hacksaw work?

Nice video. I love weatching videos of people doing any job on the bike
especially when it involves greasing haha. Btw i really like your grease
gun. Where did you get it?

Why not replace those old cotter less cranks with a new set? Those things
are so old and they don’t make those cranks any more for good reason. I’m
sure you could get a modern crank set for that bike and a can style bottom
bracket for next to nothing for that old bike so why not upgrade it?

jigglypuffmafa says:

Everything seems to be OK, but I don’t like banging on the crankarm/cotter
pin while axle and bearings are in place – this could prove to be harmful
for the baeraings and/or races… Maybe it could be done with already 1
crankarm connected to the axle or something….a bit of improvization would
be requiered though..

Harv Woien says:

Upgrading the crank to a modern square taper crank is very easy. The
procedure is as you show it up to the point of inserting the spindle. At
this point, insert a JIS square taper #5 spindle which is the correct
length to work with the original cups. Adjust as you show and then any JIS
square taper crank can be mounted. A modern aluminum crank would be much
lighter than the steel original and much easier to overhaul the next time.

nice! any plans on upgrading that bottom bracket and crank set? I have a
cotter pinned crank, and I’m thinking of upgrading but dunno what kind of
bottom bracket and crankset I need. Also, how to align it with a 6speed
freewheel. Thank you!

P.S. That cotter pin is a pain in the ass.

Shyflirt nice video again! Can yo make a video how to put tubukar on?
glueing and stalling them? Thank you! Will match to the 1974`s Peugeot
often came with Tubular wheels!

Peugeot road bike? How nice.

Дмитрий Блудов says:

Nice video. I had a bike in my childhood with exact cotter pin system.
Crank arms never kept 180 degree sweep each against other.

I like to know what is the long of the spindle?
