It might be Sophia. Not sure i am not a mechanic I just do repairs on my
children’s cars if I can I usually put the problem into google and look on
the forum sights to see if other people have the same problem then have a
go at fixing it myself if I can then put a video on YouTube to help other
people . If its not firing on all cylinders it’s usually. Your plugs or
coil pack sorry I can’t be more help

sophia jones says:

Hi Danielle don’t know off hand it is my daughters car and she is away in
university until the weekend so I can’t check and trace the wire back until
she gets home but if the car has been o.k I wouldn’t worry about it I will
try and check on weekend and get back to you

Danielle Raeburn says:

Hi, what is the wire connected to the bolt on the right? I have the same
make and model with an 03 plate and my car doesnt seem to have one. Should
I be worried?

MaryMantous says:

Sometimes the mole grips won’t work in which case you need a bolt remover.
It’s a bit like a tap but in reverse, drill a 2mm dia hole and drive the
bolt remover with a tap wrench through the hole anti-clockwise and (if the
WD-40 or other penetrating oil has done its work) the bolt should work
free. You will need a need bolt as before.

Hi David sorry to hear your having trouble but haven’t done that on that
year and model will try to find out and get back to you

David Hardarson says:

I’m having trouble with my ’99 Peugeot 206. I’m trying to change the spark
plugs but I can’t get the clips off the top of the spark plugs. Could you
help me with how to do that without smashing everything.

Adam Sears says:

Top draw cheers

tecco59 says:

the colour of the wire is black and goes into the wiring loom I
disconnected from the coil pack hope this helps

braba74 says:

Hi thanks for the video. My 206 started ok and then after it had warmed up
started to lose power when trying to accelerate, now it runs very
irregularly, A mechanic said it could be the coil pack or then the
breathing system in the engine could be clogged up ( it is a 1.4 and done
120k miles) What do you think would be my best plan of action. By the way,
great video and even I feel confident enough to have a go at changing it
myself.

bruciethebeagle2011 says:

Hi I need to change the coil pack on my 206 but the bolt on the left hand
side of the coil pack was so corroded and tight, half of it snapped of and
I cant get to the other half. The left side of the coil pack is still
attached to the car. How would I go about removing it from the car as it
needs a new pack? Cheers.

tecco59 says:

glad I could help

tecco59 says:

yes this is a 1.4 16valve . i dont think you have to reprogram ecu i didnt
and everything worked fine. this was my daughters car and it is running
fine now. you might want to change the spark plugs at the same time.you
dont have to but some people like to do it while they change the coil pack.
hope this helps

Jake B says:

Hi, is this a 16 valve 1.4? Im thinking of fitting a coil pack to my
girlfriends 1.6 16v 51 plate 307. Would the procedure be the same? Would
any ecu re-programing be required after fitting a new coil pack? Thanks for
the vid!

tecco59 says:

thats what used to happen to my daughters car the one in the video it might
be worth you changing coil pack .but you would still have to get the ecu
light switched off

tecco59 says:

the wire from the resistor is black and it goes into the loom of wires that
I disconnect from the coil pack don’t know what wire it connects to inside
the loom of wires haven’t taken the wiring loom apart sorry

Dave Alexander says:

hi. great video. very useful. what is the cable attached to the right hand
coil pack bolt? is it the earth for the coil pack or is it a interference
suppressor for the radio? mine snapped when it was at the garage for a
service. thanks

HostileCake says:

Cheers for the help. It goes into the cream colour wire anyways.

braba74 says:

Had a go and replaced the coil pack no problem. Big thanks, I would never
have tried it without your video :o)

HostileCake says:

tecco59 See that little black resistor attached to the right coil pack
post, can you tell me what colour wire its attached to on the coil pack
plug? I have to install one and not sure which wire to splice. cheers

ReturnOfTheBlack says:

I don’t have the wire at 1:36 should I be worried?

tecco59 says:

Hi when you say half of the bolt has snapped off if you mean half of the
top of the bolt has snapped and that is why the coil pack is still attached
to the car I would try to get the rest of the coil pack off ( but leave the
rest of the bolt there) by breaking it some way or another just to leave
the remaining part of the bolt visible then I would spray the bolt with
plenty of WD40 give it time to soak in then try a pair of mole grips to see
if I could get it loose

HaViKize says:

Helped loads, fixed my car! Thanks buddy! James

RealRasp says:

Hi guys, would anyone be able to tell me what this part is called (51
seconds in) I have broken the left sided pipe and need to know if this is
serious? Will it survive a drive to replace one? Thank you very much in
advance!

Hambag2009 says:

my 206 often cuts out, i leave it 10 mins and it starts again. a diagnostic
shows an ecu fault. does this sound familiar to you, and does the coil pack
have anything to do with it. Mines a 1.6 X-Reg GLX. Thanks

HostileCake says:

So the wire off the resistor goes onto a black wire in the plug?

pcarb says:

Great vid really helpful thanks a lot.
