I tried to charge my A/C with refrigerant and could not get the compressor to turn on. So I was unable to recharge the A/C in my 2006 Tuscan Hyundai. I took it to Plains Tire here in Rock Springs, Wyoming. They recharge A/C systems only. They said it would not take a charge, there seems to be a blockage somewhere and refrigerant was not very low. Please help!
I've always liked your diagnostic strategy, the discipline you put into it and into the videos themselves. I've always found them very valuable but the 'tude is killing me. I guess you get what you pay for.

it was very cold because your hoses took some of the charge out…
so a visual inspection found the problem…
Just had a thought. What causes the compressor to cycle? Is there a temperature sensor on the evaporator somewhere or does the compressor run until it trips the high pressure switch?
Hey Matt, I love your videos. I have a question about inproving the efficiency of my AC system. I needed to replace the leaking condensor on my 2005 Civic. I ordered a Denso condensor on Rock Auto and installed it, replaced filter dryer, vacuumed the system, recharged it and it works great. But the AC is obviously still not as cold idling as driving even if I rev the engine. I insulated the low pressure AC line to prevent it from absorbing heat from the engine, which helped a little. My question is can I improve the efficiency of the system a little by installing a fan on the front of the condensor to push more air through the condensor when the compressor is running? Also, could the fan save some fuel by reducing head pressure and compressor on time, or would the electrical load of the fan offset any fuel saving benefit?
