C1/107/Aygo – Fitting a new catalytic converter

This week’s video is one that’s been on the cards for a while now, I just never got around to it until now. A while ago, I made a temporary fix to my exhaust because the threads at the bottom of the catalytic converter (where the centre section bolts onto the bottom of the cat) had previously been cross threaded, so the threads have now been stripped away. To fix this, I could have welded the holes up, re-drilled them and tapped the holed, but that’s far too much effort! I instead ended up finding a replacement cat (an OEM one, not an eBay one). Therefore, today’s job is to replace the catalytic converter with another one, so the bolts can be done up correctly and seal the exhaust leak.

Please follow me on Instagram @dabdiy for sneak peeks of what I’m up to between videos and if you’re feeling generous, you can buy me a coffee by clicking on the link below. Any coffees bought are greatly appreciated and you’ll have your name in the credits of all future videos. www.buymeacoff.ee/dabdiy

Could you have not re-threaded the old cat?
