It’s pretty similar to the 2.2L in my 04 (I didn’t realize I didn’t have a 2.4… doh), except I could not find a nut to pry on to make slack on the tension arm, so I wound up essentially just hooking a socket under it and manually lifting while I slid the belt on the alternator. Not easy but it worked since I was at the parts store and didn’t know what else to do. Overall the video still helped lots though, thanks!

You make this look so easy… Have a 96 skylark with the same motor. Been having a terrible time getting the belt off because theres no space to work with. A very odd engine to say the least. Thanks for the vid!

It could be similar. There should be a belt routing diagram on the frame rail or under side of the hood in the engine compartment.

Would this be similar to the 2.2L Ecotec?

Unfortunately at this time we are working on other videos for different vehicles but we will keep this in mind for a later video down the road
