Wow, very informative, looks like I’ll be saving alot more money thanks to you. Peace. 🙂
Thank you very much for this video. We were able to change all 4 with no issues and they all work great!!!
If the window regulator cable has broke, you would need to replace the window regulator. We carry new window regulators on our website 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Say the cable is broken like you said in the video, would it be possible to repair the cable itself with say a different cable or maybe use a bolt clip and clip the wire back together? id rather try to avoid buying a new regulator if i can do a cheap fix. its a rear window regulator
It may be a similar procedure for the rear door. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Would this be basically the same for the rear regulator installation?
The installation for the manual window regulator is exactly the same as the power one you saw.
can you do this same exact process with a non power window?
i honestly want to say thank you for putting this video on youtube because i just fixed my alero 2001 replaced the regulator and now i saved about 300 dollars i appreciate it.
Thanks for the reply.. I was actually able to just unbolt & remove the motor from the regulator and then you can just push the window down with your hands.
To roll down the window at this point you will have to cut the cables that are holding the bracket in place so you can lower the glass down to the point to reach the bolts. You will have to support the glass once the cable is cut.
How do I get to the two window bolts if I can’t get the window to roll down? Thanks for ur video.
Your video are so awesome and help me so much. Thanks. You are a big help.
You would need to remove the door panel first. It might be tough to do with the door closed. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Can you do it with the door closed? My back door doesn’t open, and the window won’t go up.
You may want to check the motor mounts to see if one is broken and needs to be replaced. 1aauto.com 888-844-3383
great work… so i have an 2000 alero 4door and my car shakes really bad while im driving with the a.c on but it stop shaking when i switch the gear to park with the ac still on…. do you have any idea what could it be…
We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows you how to replace these clips. We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this repair.
Nice video. I was hoping you would cover the actual window regualtor clips and where/how the go on.
I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Am and need to replace the driver side regulator clips. I believe the regulator cable runs through the clip some how but since both clips were lying in pieces in the bottom of the door I’m stumped as to how they are used. Can you help me, please??
You could test the switch with a test light to see if it has power going to and from it. Also check the wire harness between the door and body of the vehicle to see if there are any broken or frayed wires that could be causing this issue.
I have a 2 door 2004 alero and my driver side window button broke and wont roll my window down Im pretty sure its the button its self but im not a 100 percent because the passenger button right next to it rolls it down no problem, so I’m wondering if its just a wire or the button because it stopped working for a couple days then started working again but now it wont work at all please help!!!
You may want to look for a loose or frayed wire in the door or in the wire harness that runs between the door and body of the car. If there’s a frayed wire it could cause the issue that you are describing. If there aren’t any broken or frayed wires you may also want to check the window motor to see if it could be damaged. Hope this helps you out 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
My son has a 2001 Alero, 4 doors. All of the windows work great except the driver side window. We were able to get it to go up and down if we beat against the door panel. Do you have any suggestions on why this would be and if it is something I can fix? Thank you so much.
Cool thx
If it’s a light that means the alarm is activated, you may want to see if you can deactivate it.
i actually had a question thats off topic. My 2000 alero 2door will not start wen the little light (on the left side of steering wheel, under ac vent) flashes. Ive tried searching it up…and cant seem to find what the problem is. Help?
