I have been trying to find a video on how to replace the belt on a 99 Oldsmobile 88…you guys have a video for every car I can think of except for this one..since when is a belt wrapped around and through an engine mount and spacer?
I got it on with ease the 1st time and realized I had the A/C wrong. It was harder the second time until I realized to do the water pump last and loop that over as I lifted the tensioner with the belt already on the tensioner. At first I was trying to put the last part of the belt on tensioner as I lifted it, which was way harder.
The belt is a Goodyear Gatorbelt. You can tell by the cross threads on the belt.

One tip: be real carefull removing the hose from the overflow bottle. That port is notoriously weak & can crack.
Thanks for the tip about releasing the tension using a half inch rachet on the tensioner.
you should inspect the serpentine belt for cracks with every oil change.Other than that they should be replaced every 30,000-50,000 miles depending on the condition of the serpentine belt.
