Oh that’s what my cars missing down by the crank/harmonic balancer. There’s
no bolt holes, just an obvious home welding job from previous owner. My car
drives good, but I can sometimes hear sum rattling so I take it easy on
bumpy roads. Any advice? I drive an 88 Olds Toronado & an 89 & I
went&looked at my 89 has what my 88 doesn’t. Is that dangerous, driving with
a homemade weld job?

Power steering pump 1997 pontiac gran prix se.The pump works how do bleed
the air out of it???

prckay says:

are you able to do a video for montana tire rod change

1A Auto Parts says:

Time varies especially with how badly the bolts are rusted.

Kleinbeck104 says:

Very good video, thanks! I just did this to my 2000 Buick Regal LS and it
was pretty easy. All of the manuals I have read suggest dropping the
sub-frame. However with some patience and wiggling the sway bar around, I
did not have to. I came right out through the drivers side wheel well.
Thanks again

1A Auto Parts says:

For you Grand Prix GTP, Impala SS, and Regal GS people and others, even
though it is a minivan and I don’t care how it handles, I did notice body
roll was minimized with the solid bar installed. The solid bar is heavier
though. So it is a tradeoff if you are looking at performance.

B Gehrks says:

@1aauto what would happen if I would just unhook the swaybar and leave it?

chicoman1982 says:

Thanks a lot for the video! I don’t know what I would have done without it.
Thank you!

t436 says:

@1aauto My bar had a loud audible sound when it genaded on me. This video
will come in handy on my 98 Century.

1A Auto Parts says:

@aimm3lat3re You can replace the links and bushings seperately.

tspilker says:

Hey this is a great video. Can you guys tell me if I need to drop the
engine carriage on a 2000 buick century to do this?

Aaron Brown says:

Hi Mike, I was going to purchase a stabilizer bar from a1auto until I saw
you were a Pats fan 🙁 sorry. Lol jk, thank you for three excellent video!

jeddyhi says:

Thank you very much. I replaced a broken sway bar link myself thanks to
your video. $4.25 was all the part cost. You saved me a lot of labor cost
and I tip my hat to you.

1A Auto Parts says:

@scruffy412 It was not hard on this vehicle and I looked at an impala and
it actually looked there was more space. With your mods though I don’t know
how it will effect installation. One note, on the impala I looked at the
bar was installed “upside down” from how this one is installed so just pay
attention to how your bar is mounted. Specifically whether the middle bend
is up or down.

1A Auto Parts says:

@mrexecutive1 Visual inspection. On many cars you get a rattling or
clunking noise over bumps when the stabilizer bar breaks totally.

airess1 says:

also would a bad sway bar make ur tire feel like its bout to shake
completely off the car

1A Auto Parts says:

You should be able to.

1A Auto Parts says:

We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows that particular
repair. We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we need to do
this in the future.

.. your videos make everything seem so easy…really good thanks alot

Thank you for the info!

How much time do I need to complete this?

brickben75 says:

Thanks for posting. I changed the sway bar on my 2002 Grand Prix with the
help of this video. The hardest part was getting the old bar out. I tried
dropping the engine cradle as you described, but was not getting very much
extra room. I then removed one tie rod end and it gave me the clearance to
work the bar out rather easily. To my surprise the new bar went in like a
snap, and everything else was just as you described in the video. The soap
tip REALLY helped. Thanks again!

HUOT E says:

do you have to replace sway bar if you just need to replace link bushings?
do you have to take out sway bar link bracket if just getting to the link
bushings?

great video, i have a grand prix , and the bend in the went down…..

thank you very much for the info..

alexhortdog95 says:

Why does GM and many mechanics say you have to drop the engine/subframe in
an 08 impala to do this?!?

1A Auto Parts says:

it is a self bleeding system. You will have to rotate the wheel back and
forth to remove the air from the rack and pinion.

Edward North says:

Thank You Very Much! Wow, not just a manual and pictures, BUT A VIDEO! You
have really helped me out. I appreciate your thoughtfulness. Edward

I like your videos alot, I’m about to do this to my 2004 grand prix as I’m
going to coilovers. Because my car is dropped I do have engine spacers
lifting my engine about 1/2″, do you think that will make it easier to
slide the new sway bar in? I also have headers.
