Just a quick video on the installation of the temporary Edelbrock carb until I rebuild and re-bush the Quadrajet.

Wow, that was incredible to watch 4 studs, 4 nuts, 1 bolt and 2 springs get installed. Why make this video if the carb is just going to be removed and replaced anyway?

I had a issue with my quadrajet. I would wind out second with a auto trans and the carb would run dry. I would let off the gas and renail it and it would come back to life to shift to drive ..
I suspected the carb and changed needles and seats and hangers and rods .. nothing worked.

I pulled my tank and a previous owner put a hose where the sock is on the sending unit and had a lead weight on the hose end that was cut on a 45 degree . I changed carbs to a double pumper and the symptom went away. But now I am thinking the missing sock on the fuel pick up and the hose flopping around could somehow starve the pump and short change the quadrajet ..making the carb run low on fuel. So now I am dropping the tank again and putting in a new sending unit.. I would like to run my quadrajet so the OAI is working. I think the Holley on a adapter plate makes the carb too high for the OAI to fit under the hood? Your thoughts?

An instructional video would have been more helpful. I'd like to learn how to tune it and troubleshoot any issues after installation
