Removing the brackets on the fire wall was golden tip! That took five
minutes or so and I had number six replaced in ten minutes. Needed a swivel
and light touch. Thanks!

Thanks

Michael Ballard says:

I also found the plug much easier to remove with a 6″ extension and a
ratchet with a pivoting head. If you have such a ratchet I recommend trying
that first. I found the u-joints too unstable when I applied force, making
me
prone to break the plug.

Michael Ballard says:

I popped the #6 boot with a small rope. 1/4″ cotton clothesline. I made a
slip-loop, like you use on your finger with a yo-yo string. Then I slid it
down the wire from the distributor end, and passed the loop over the boot,
Then I just snugged the loop tight and pulled up. Worked famously and
didn’t damage the wire, and I didn’t have to mess with those lines back
there. (In this case I am replacing the wire anyway)

The plug was another matter! (%#@!!!!)
