Commenting at first of video. That steering seems insane, how? Can't wait to find out how that happens.

ColinWatters says:

I once drove a work colleague to a garage to collect his car. He said it was in the shop because it was hard to drive in wind. When we got there it was over an inspection pit and the engineer was underneath pushing and pulling looking for loose joints etc. I noticed the bottom of the steering column was moving but not the top. There was 90 degrees of play because one of two bolts in the steering coupling was missing and the other had worn its hole oval. When the engineer tapped the remaining bolt with a screwdriver it fell out leaving no steering at all.

Joel Dziak says:

instant I saw inside tire rub, had diagnosis in place. 12m later Ray confirmed LMAO

We didn't see if you checked the upper control arms for excessive movement.

Ron Huffman says:

Did you notice the rubbing marks on the drivers side tire just above the Rim? Any idea what that is about. As always great video.

Hal H says:

Friends had a 1st Gen Chrysler New Yorker / LHS ['94-'97] – very same symptom – bushings that secured the rack & pinion would allow the rack to slip and steering wheel angle would change after making turns

Mike Roup says:

Had the exact same issue with my 1999 Pathfinder (w/ 550K). Really weird when driving it as the rack slid back and forth! Was much worse than this one as the bushings came almost all the way out, seemingly overnight. Replaced the bushings and all was well again.
