Goons try this thanks. My cluster is acting funny. The light behind the digital read out went out and the brake and battery light come on and off randomly. Also rpm gauge gets stuck sometimes any ideas? Thanksb

Is there a fuse specifically for the odometer??

Cody Hall says:

Everything on my dash works BUT my odometer. PLEASE HELP

My odometer on my 2004 Xterra is the only thing not lighting up. Any idea?

Tony Guymer says:

Has anyone ever had the cruise control functions in the instrument cluster lock up at the end of the startup sequence – all lights on? Does anyone know how to reset those values? Vehicle is a 2002 ODB1 Nissan Elgrand E51 4WD with active cruise control. Car just can't get passed the startup test it seems. Everything else functions perfectly. All codes cleared on ECU with ODB1 scanner. Any assistance appreciated.

Cool thanks. Good to know !

eeyyaakk says:

Mine passed your test, but it's working intermittently – it is working more often than not. Slapping seems to help. When it's failing, everything does not work, it is not limited to just the speedometer.
Any suggestions?

What if your entire dashboard doesn’t work? The lights work, but the gauges don’t. Although if I hit the dashboard really hard a few times it sometimes works again. But eventually goes out.
Any ideas?

Joey Layman says:

I have a Nissan Altima. Gauges work for awile why driving then all of a sudden the speed odometer will bury itself and the rpm gauge will stay at its last poison the temp gauge will go down to cold but it dose reset its self after awhile was it sets not running.

Good Vibes says:

If the cluster is intermittent, this test might not be so helpful

larryadkins1984 says:

I have a 2000 Nissan truck. The fuel Gage works but the speedometer doesn't. If I try and reset it can it mess up my other gages? Please reply to this comment and let me know what you think. Thanks

M3TR01D58 says:

Hey, so I tried doing the diagnosis on my 2000 Sentra but I couldn't get it to work. Does this mean my cluster isn't working properly?

Sid Calimlim says:

I did follow your procedures, all needles move except the coolant temperature. I grounded the wire from the sensor and the needle moved 1/2 way not full. I took out the panel to see if there's burnt or loose connection like solder. I found one behind the temp gage, re-soldered and now my odometer don't work, Any suggestion.

Res Bum says:

Thank you very much. Both my trusted mechanic and myself have been chasing a non-working speedometer/odometer issue on my 2000 Xterra. Yet, while I test drove it he could see vehicle speed on his scanner. After watching this I confirmed the original cluster and a donor cluster both work, in less than five minutes. Now I'm going to watch your vids on the VSS and it's wiring. Thanks again.

N Khan says:

Sir why after mileage correction the dash works only for while and start doing shit after and only happens to nissan?

Waleed Sp says:

Is this work with lancer 96?

Stephanie V. says:

Yes very helpful just to even know. Since dealership is saying they “aren’t sure” if fixing fuel gauge will also fix my also not working speedometer” and they say they have to send to fix the combination, which also might be related to cluster but not sure they say. Total costing me $800 too much for a “not sure this will fix the issues”

Demetrius Jay Keys says:

is this the same way for the temp. gauge as well

SwiftMango says:

thnx for posting bro! … saved me a ton of time ripping my dash open when i didnt have to!!
