Installing an HID kit on a 2013 Nissan Altima

This is a brief video of how to install a set of HID lights on a 2013 Nissan Altima, it can also work as a reference for 2007-12 Altimas, 2009+ Maximas, or I…

Milan Nikolic says:

It seems that you have an SL trim from the side mirror lamps and fogs..
Doesn’t the SL trim already come with HID, so why are you installing them?

Tuang Hoa says:

That’s how dealers want to make money for this kind of easy installation
even you can do them by yourself.

prateek shukla says:

As asked by someone, wont the warranty get void if i install his kit in my
car?

cesarposadacp says:

I think mine came with hid light

Roberto Reinhardt says:

Are you going to do a video on the fog lights hid install?

Jerick Sablan says:

hey man question. i purchased a HID kit from DDM. i got 8000k 55w for the
lows. Do you recommend a harness?

Yusuf Madan says:

whats the bulb size dude? H1 h4??

mike216ism says:

I went with the morimoto kit. Mounted the relays and ran everything. The so
beautiful! Now all I need is tinted windows, a fully crome mesh bottom and
top grill. Some 17 or 18 inch factory wheels and fog lights with another
morimoto hid kit. Love this car so much. The ride is so smooth and it’s
super Sexy! The more I drive it the more I love it

Brandon Pryor says:

yeah, the 55w just provides more light output. i did this to my 2010 altima

markgobucks82 says:

dumb question. how do you remove the pins or clips or whatever off the
plastic cover thing above the tire? do you pry it open?

queensny2009 says:

Hey jp….what type of brand are those hids (6000) and how nuch do they
cost. I have a 2009 nissan altima 2.5s sl sedan and i want to install new
hids. Also where can i buy these hids (any specific place or website).
Thanks

JP92RS says:

Thanks for the comments, and yes brand is up to the consumer and not the
installation.

mike216ism says:

I love this car. Yours is beautiful. Love the white. Could you please share
the link so I make sure I get the correct kit. Looked for hours and just
not sure which one I need. It would be much appreciated

sooriLOORI says:

what size is the light bulb (I have the same car)? H1, H2, etc. And how can
I usually know what size of light bulb I have? Thanks!

Roberto Llanos says:

Cheap* lolol

JP92RS says:

I’m glad it helped out, it’s a lot better than paying extra at a shop or
buying expensive bulbs that do just as good as this one did.

mike216ism says:

What tool do use to pop the clips off without screwing them up? Please
share that kit link! Your car looks so good. The Window tint is beautiful.
Stupid law in Ohio only allows us to have 50% tint. Looks really good dark.
I doubt see anyone with those gorgeous lights around here

JP92RS says:

Those are the Xentec, I bought the upgraded AC ballasts instead of the DC.
They provide a more closer/realistic light output, and handle better the
Auto On/Off light switch. Being that sometimees when driving under bridges,
the lights will turn on for a couple of seconds.

JP92RS says:

I will not recommend installing HID’s on the fog lights, due to the heat
the light creates on the lamp. You will see how the plastic lens will fade,
and sometimes I’ve seen the lenses start showing signs of melting the
housing. Remember that the lens is really small, and you will be creating
more light output. However if you do want to do it anyway, the installation
will be the same as the low beams. Just make sure that all the wires and
the ballasts are securely attached to a firm place.

yimingration says:

Hey JP, great job on the video. I have 2010 Altima and I can change my bulb
without taking out the wheel. That saved me a lot of work . I just have a
quick question, do you have a relay hardness for those HID lights? One of
my bulbs keep going out and the guys at the dealership said sometimes
Nissans don’t have enough voltage to the light bulb and suggested that I
install a relay hardness. Do you have any experience with that? Thanks!

samuelmendez56 says:

You guys should look at my altima it has 6k hids 5k license plate bulbs 1
1/2 inch drop on eibach springs and 19″ lm’s “2013 altima on eibach drop
and 19” lm’s

alibaig413 says:

great video! i just have one question, i have the same car and was
wondering what size bulb did you use?

Frank Polanco says:

I just picked up my 2013 Altima SL about a week ago, I contact the dealer
and asked if they could do this for me and they said no because it would
void the warranty in the vehicle, aren’t you concern about that? and where
did you get the HID lights anyway?

JP92RS says:

Sure you can, it’s still the same vehicle.

volcomXdiamond says:

with all that work, ill just bring my car to someone and have them do it

JP92RS says:

Please Like if it helped out!. I’ll try to get more videos uploaded this
week of other upgrades done to it.

Justin Hammock says:

My altima came with the factory hid headlights. I want to upgrade to 8000k
what kit do I need to purchase?

KingFC163 says:

Do a tour of you beautiful cR

Marcus Patton says:

Routing the hid kit in this car is so easy. Of I work in the Nissan plant
so I know what to look for. I like to see people mess with these cars after
we build them

JP92RS says:

I upgraded to the 55w 5000K Xentec kit, which is only $10 more than the
35w. due to the passenger light that blew the fuse once. Since the swap
I’ve haven’t had any problems, and like I said before the light output and
color is much more like the factory kits found on the high end cars and
even the 370Z

soonersz soon says:

great vid! i have 2013 altima 2.5 s! can i installing hid lights on it?

mike216ism says:

That’s very true. Looks like they built it with common sense

JP92RS says:

I placed it on the driver side on top of the wheel weld, in the engine bay.
If you look at the video on minute 1:07, you will see exactly where I
placed it.

EDRIC VILA says:

Thanks for the video, it really helps a lot! You mention that you are using
the 6000k xentec ac ballast. Is it 35w or 55w? Are they still working in
good order and also the auto-on-off mode works fine? thank you again

Roberto Llanos says:

Same problem with my 2007, and for me it was better to just take the bumper
off..
