Just what I needed. Thanks!
What about 2010 maxima?
Squash the new filter flat like an accordian THEN feed it into the casing. It will expand inside the casing with a slight up/down wiggle to its fully expanded size. Technique will not work with a cheap paper filter, only a felt-type with non-ridgid borders. Compressed air into the casing sprayed at the top will blow out other debris at the bottom.
Using the same hook the author is using, at the bottom of the hockey-shaped plastic cover, insert it horizontally between the release tab and the casing and turn clockwise and the cover will pull away from the casing for easy removal. Squash the new filter flat like an accordian to keep from damaging it as your feed it into the casing, (noting the air flow arrow direction beforehand), and let it expand itself once the filter is completely inside the casing with a bit of wiggling. 🙂
Who cares the quality of the video, location was all I needed, thanks for posting this!
Thanks for posting this. It was enough info for me to figure out the rest easily. Anyone who still can’t figure it out probably is not smart enough to change a filter anyway.
What a crappy demonstration.
very good
@boncukerhan @boncukerhan : Agreed the video could be better (post a better one). Bottom line is “do it yourself and save money”. There is no problem with getting the filter in bending it slightly around the gas pedal. My feeling is Nissan should have put it in the glove box (like other models) for easy owner replacement. But maybe they put it behind the gas pedal so they could nail you in the service department. I posted this since most don’t know where it’s located which is all I needed.
Thanx aloooooooot it works in qashqai 2007-2009 too
simplest way to change the filter …. the air stream is so strong now lol .
good luck 🙂
Is this the same way to replace a cabin microfilter in a 2010 Murano as well?
hahahaha I unscrew the screws in the glove box first and then I found out this is the correct way
