2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 Nissan Murano
Replaced all 6 spark plugs and the intake manifold gasket on a 2007 Nissan Murano.
Before I replaced the spark plugs I had replaced the front brake rotors.
The spark plugs on bank 2 ( cylinder 2, 4, 6) was easy to do but getting to the spark plugs on bank 1 (1, 3, 5) was hard to do.
When i removed spark plug #3, there was oil on the plug. That is a sign of oil leaking from the spark plug o-ring on the valve cover.
I spoke to my friend about the oil leak and so the valve cover will need to be replaced. And it won’t be done that day. It would be done by next weekend since I don’t repair cars on the weekdays. He declined on the valve cover gasket replacement because he needed his car by tonight to go to work.
It was my first time to do this repair. So after doing this repair I think it would have been easier if i was to remove the cowl to have more room and the throttle body.

O my goodness!!!! To many hooks great job.

D C says:

Most transverse mounted v-6/v-18 engines are a PITA to replace spark plugs and/or coil packs. Look at Toyota Camry/Avalons, have to remove the windshield wiper arms and cowling then the air surge tank.

rrtnps says:

All that to replace some spark plugs??? CRAZY!! Now I know why Nissan Techs become Toyota Techs. LOL!!

PickleRix says:

If you go to the trouble of removing all of that stuff from your Murano, you might as well replace the valve covers too because those will start leaking soon. Ask me how I know.

Bobby Benn says:

You're right sir, I did it on a 2005 maxima. It took a little longer, believe me it was worth it. The only problem I ran into was #3 coil fell apart as I was removing it. It took awhile to get the bottom out, but I made. Great work you sir, keep it up. I'm 72, I want to give it up, but I enjoy it. God bless
