How To Install A Wireless Charger Into A Nissan Xterra

How To Install A Wireless Charger Into A Nissan Xterra

Today we add a modern feature to the Xterra. Wireless Charging!
I had a random wireless charger lying around and figured I would install it into my 2005 Nissan Xterra.

It’s not a difficult job but taking apart the dash can be a little fiddly. If you want to buy the charger that I used in the video you can find it here: https://amzn.to/3tyCuh8

What blows me the most away from watching your channel is that when you're working on your Xterra you haven't been cussing!

WeThePeople says:

I have a 4×4 without the bottom cubby. A run a single din head unit because I like to run the single din size cubby under the radio for extra storage. Since I normally toss my phone in that cubby, I may try to see if I can get it to fit.

Richard Banister says:

Thanks for the tip. The wells in my X keep hinting at a wireless charger.

Great intro and really appreciate your guides.

Дмитро Костейчук says:

how to translate multimedia into Russian ?! and change miles for kilomeirs? halons to liters ?! I understand that the video is not eb this but it is difficult for us in Ukraine to understand miles, halons, foringates?

My xterra completely won’t start. You turn the key and it doesn’t even crank. I had a friend tell me the issue was the fuel pump. Do you think that’s correct? If not what else do you could think the problem could be? (2005 model btw)

David Anderson says:

Did one simular. I used a 5 coil charger with it inside the tray and hardwired it by drilling a hole for the wire. Easy access if the charger ever goes bad.

betoq92 says:

Wow I just did this on my X 2 weeks ago!!!

Paul Negron says:

Another great video man!

brokendowndrone says:

Awesome! Nice work! Do you think that upper tray would also work for this project?

Rocky Privratsky says:

Hey Ry: I have a dumb question. I’ve been watching your channel since the start, but isn’t your Xterra a 2wd?

Qeva says:

Informative, thanks

Please if you can do a video on the ac evaporator inside the cabin, cleaning or changing it

KHILADI says:

Not enough xterra content out there. Love your gem of a channel being an xterra owner. I also bought a full repair manual from Haynes online. It is a pretty exhaustive one. But nothing like a video showing how to actually do it.

turxish says:

Awesome tutorial! Did you have to install an amp, or does the stereo setup have enough power for the car's speakers and the wireless charging pad on its own?

Jesse Kangas says:

My X doesn’t have that cubbie and the radio I purchased doesn’t have wireless CarPlay. Love the content tho!

Notthat Lopez says:

So gonna do this, unfortunately I have to use the lower tray. The middle slot is too small for an IPhone8 nonplus (I have the integrated radio with ac controls non rockford fosgate) Upper tray worries me due to me being in SoCal and worry about overheating. I saw on another forum that someone used the lower tray and ran the power to the plug inside the center console. As always always appreciate your videos.

DustinB855 says:

Everyone with 4wd can't put it there lol wonder if would work in the tray under radio in center console

A Pr says:

I got extra screws from the junkyard for the radio. I have been dropping them back there since 2009.

Clark S says:

Yes amazing idea.

Whyworry Street says:

I love how your YouTube Channel is basically a long form love letter to the Nissan Xterra. I have a Nissan Frontier Pro 4X in a 6 speed manual, and I love my truck. Hope to drive it till the wheels fall off.
