Could this also be true on a Pontiac g 6? And are they really that easy to replace? Thanks

Tom Harrison says:

Consider that dirty Injectors place huge demands on the ignition system due to a lean mixture, always remember to 'fix the cause, not the problem '!

pat dee says:

I tried to find the scanner you were using. So I clicked on your link but it was not there. What is the model and manufacturer of your scanner. Please…

I was wondering how you could be going through this process without any curse words, momentary breaks in a specified crying room, offending at least one family member, and questioning your place in this world, but then I remembered you weren’t working on a Volvo.

I have code 300, 302 and 304 on a 4 cylinder Toyota Prius. Since there are multiple codes, do you think its likely that more than one coil pack is going bad at once? I realize it could also be fuel injectors.

doublebasser razzmuss says:

Hello. What would cause all 8 cylinders to misfire? 01 jaguar xkr. thank you.

Brian says:

You can also run into a misfire if you've done a recent timing belt change. The crankshaft pulley sensor might need to be re-calibrated with the position of the pulley.

Marc Goodman says:

Nice neat repair. New respect for the Nissan Altima engine layout. A little education. A few hand tools. And the repair can be done as a DIY project at home.

P Dog says:

Can the coil causing misfire also cause your exhaust to smell like rotten eggs? When my engine light came on, I recalled the smell of rotten eggs. Later found the bad coil causing the misfire and ordered some new plugs and coils. While waiting for delivery, I'm still wondering why the exhaust smelled like rotten eggs…

Hello!!!

I have a 2013 Nissan Versa 1.6 SV

I was getting P0300.

I end up replacing the spark plugs and coils.

Spark plugs first then a month later the coil packs.

After replacing the coil packs, I did a test drive. The car was smooth from freeway to stop light. No jerking. Near my place at a stop light. I notice the car starts shaking like it was having a misfire. The check engine light pops up then the car dies. While this is happening I can smell burning rubber. I immediately thought of the coil pack.

I end up testing the car. I get a code – P0304. I check that coil and the coil looks like melted from the inside.

I replaced it with a new one.

Now the car won't start. It will crank but won't start.

Any advice?

tum bunrith says:

easy to catch up. thanks man.

Me Me says:

My 2005 Ford Freestyle had read code P0305 that indicate of misfire of the cylinder 5 . I tried to switching the spark coils and the spark of cylinder 5 to 4 and start the engine but the reading code still the same p0305 ( no change). I can smell the strong gasoline while the engine running. Any one know why and how to solve this problem and how to fix it? Please let me know. Thank you so much.

bFORCe2003 says:

A misfire can be anything from a faulty coil to a spark plug to a fuel injector or vacuum leak etc…..this is just one fix, others may be something else.
