How long do you reckon it takes a skilled mechanic to do this job?
Great video! Thanks
@TMSLAUGHTER26 Stock Versa (same as Note) plugs will work with a generic
14mm deep well socket with the rubber spark plug retaining boot (you can
pull this out of spark plug sockets), i used two 3/8 drive extensions to
get down through the spark plug bore. You could take the cam cover off if
you wanted to make it easier to get at.
Thanks for this – its the same engine as a 160sr micra so very usefull.
Thanks for posting this. I tried looking for workshop manual for nissan
note but could not find any.
Where do I buy that spark plug removal bar?
Thanks for the video. good breakdown. F dealers they are nothing but a con
artist.
did you need to replace throttle body gasket ? as well as the intake gasket
??
nissan MADE THAT VERY RETARDED!!! all of that work just to get to 4 simple
spark plugs
Curious, what it the cost of replacing the spark plugs at the dealership?
I.e. parts and labor.
Thanks Man!
wow that’s a lot of part to take out just for spark plugs that’s why I like
older cars are sometimes easier to work on but hard to find parts for I
changed spark plugs and leads on a 1990 Nissan sunny 1.6 12v automatic. no
and then sometimes don’t start on the first turn of the key I would like to
solve that problem if there’s any Nissan guy that could help.
350.00 to 550.00
Where can I get a hold of this spark plug removal bar? I’m having
difficulty finding one…..please help. Thanks
notice how they dropped the slogan “you can with a nissan”? they want you
to think “you can’t with a nissan” 😉
You could just check the engine model. The Note in this video is 2007,
engine is HR16DE
My local car parts supplier had them in stock. They are fairly easy to find
on ebay too.
The mechanic who showed me how to do this never mentioned it. He works
mainly on mercedes and volvo, articulated lorries down to small family
cars. He has many years experience so I trust his opinion. You may choose
not to.
Removing all that stuff just to get to the plugs? Dang, and i thought my
90′ 300zx was a bit tricky.
its obvious you took my question the wrong way lol i was basically asking
him if he clanged the gasket or not so when i do mine ill know …im not
sure if they are reusable or not that’s all
Really helped. My car has a few variations from the vid but I was able to
replace my plugs safely and quickly. Thanks.
Thank you for making this video. Took me over 4 hrs to do it myself as I
have not delved into auto repair for over 20 years. But couldn’t have done
it with out your input. Wow! Crazy all that has to be done just to change a
spark plug and coil!! One thing I might mention one screw on the intake
manifold is slightly different than the other 4 screws and if you don’t
notice it, you will have great difficulty putting things back together as I
did.
This process the same for a 2007 nissan sentra?
hey nice vid what year is your car would it be the same steps for my 05
pathfinder
Thanks I finally got it. That bar is not available in the U.S. but a 14mm
socket and a long needle pliers worked perfectly. Thanks for posting this
video. It has been a tremendous help.
@thinkpad411 Iridium plugs are an option of course. The whole idea is to
service the engine at a lower cost…..without compromising the Nissan
specifications. NGK platinum tip sparkplugs are around 40% cheaper than the
Denso plugs specified in the manual.
Thank you for making and sharing this video. You have saved me several
hundred bucks. FOR SURE.!!!
try looking at ebay i manage to get a cd manual of a nissan note 1.4
Just ask your local motor parts store for a narrow long reach spark plug
bar. Its the same bar that does the renault clio .
Not sure as the engine types are different
Спасибо за видео (thanks for this video)
@thinkpad411 But really it’s actually a good reason/opportunity to also
clean the throttle body and intake.
When i did this for my mum’s car i realized why the stock replacement plug
is an iridium tipped plugs good for over 100 000 miles, because a shop
would charge you probably $100 in labor, assuming you have a 4 year old
Note/Versa who’s vacuum lines are practically glued onto their fittings.
