@mlop129 It is a good idea. Pull the fuse and let the car run till it
stalls.

Just did my fuel filter on 95 Maxima and it is impossibly tight to get at
the bottom hose without removing air assembly. In my opinion it is
definitely required but wasnt mentioned in video.

Have a 97 maxima with an electrical problem I’ve never been able to figure
out. Btw the fuel filter is a pain in the Ass to replace.

novenyc says:

nice video thanks!!

mrbestforlife says:

thanks man

RRAS Tutorials says:

Thanks! I really appreciate the compliment. I agree that so many repairs
are overpriced and it’s difficult for some people to gather up the cash for
it. A lot of times I repair things for others and ask for nothing in
return. I really feel bad hearing people say that they have to wait until
they get paid so they can shell out something like $20. Especially when it
is something that is so simple.

smoothdancer33 says:

Very good straight forward video, thank u for making it!!!

darell smith says:

i have a 96 maxima and it keeps cutting off. i drive it and then it shuts
off.. i have to use gas and brake pedal for it to stay running let off gas
and it shuts off. then takes long time to start back up. can u tell me
whats wrong with it.

michaelm815 says:

thank you so much

mlop129 says:

do you have to pull the fuel pump fuse to release the pressure before u
change the filter?

alancama123 says:

Thanks for the straightforward vid. Greatly appreciated.

jchino1229 says:

this wasn’t fun for me.. the hose didn’t pop out as easily for me or popped
back in easily. I just f*** it and cut the top hose shorter.. and i couldnt
get the hose all the way back in but got most of it past the tip of it and
had enough rubber to clamp from there.. no leaks so far so leave it alone
till the next time i do it.. next time i’m getting a new hose.. what size
hose would i have to ask for btw?

biglounumber12 says:

Video good. I have 96 Max…tight!! What year is that Max that u r doing??
Removed my iacv still can’t get in there!!

PDXChris1 says:

Uh, you have to relieve the pressure first by unplugging the fuse or relay
to the fuel pump and then starting the car and letting it die. Otherwise it
you could die or at least have a lot of gas everywhere.

chrisj52688 says:

THOSE FILTERS ARE A BITCH TO GET THE HOSE OFF!

RRAS Tutorials says:

You are welcome!

RRAS Tutorials says:

@jackchn23 The fuel filter should be changed to make sure that there is
always a clean steady flow of fuel to the engine. When to change it is
varies on different cars. It can be between 20,000 to 100,000 miles. I
would check your owners manual. I think we’ve done it about every 40,000
miles on this car.

RRAS Tutorials says:

Thanks! I just made a video on how to relieve the fuel pressure. Check the
link in the description.

biglounumber12 says:

RRAS Tutorials says:

@steelz436 No problem!

allencrider says:

Phew! Did it. Next time, I’m gonna just cut it out and replace the hoses
because they’re stiff as hell and 17 years old.

Franchize19143 says:

@xPREDICTIONx The video was very helpful and clear. Keep on teaching and
thank you for your assistance

RRAS Tutorials says:

Well I’m glad you were able to get it done!

MrTxTwoStep says:

98 Maxima – Which relay is for the fuel pump? I found the four by the
Drivers fuse box, but not sure which one to pull. Your fuel pump
replacement video is awesome. Thanks for helping the mechanically
challenged!

RRAS Tutorials says:

Good Luck! And keep us posted…

slugger975 says:

This was a great and helpful video. I tried to replace mines on my ’97
Nissan Maxima but It seems that my car doesn’t have nearly enough space for
me to do it like you did in the video without me removing parts first.

Patty Pooh says:

Just bought the filter. Letting my car cool down. I hope I don’t get too
scratched up 😛

RRAS Tutorials says:

@traxxasqwerty That great! Im glad the the video helped.

goalgeta says:

I just change my fuel filter all by myself, thanks to your video. I got a
few bruises though but I still got the job done.

jackchn23 says:

how often should the filter be replaced? If it aint broke don’t fix it?
