Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

Nissan was not prewired for the telephone, so this is not a cable or phone
problem, unless you have the factory telephone. This is a stereo problem.

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

BAD RADIO! Sounds like three different problems. We can take care of this
stereo here in shop. Bring by or send in for repair. See the link to
“Shipping Info” on our website.

I have a nissan maxima 2001 with stereo bosé but does not work, the screen
says “TEL”, disconnect the battery negative, I reconnect and it works for a
while, but returns to “TEL”. any idea why it can be?

splibb says:

@BallxSkillz Thanks for taking the time to make this video, it helped me A
LOT! It’s the little things, like how hard it is to remove the 8 really
tight screws, I would have stripped them out for sure had it not been for
you. Please keep up the good work, you are what makes the internet so
useful! Thanks again Bob.

BallxSkillz says:

do you have to disconnect the battery before doing all of this?

redjuice83 says:

Great video. Didnt think it was that easy. Gonna help when I replace my
stereo. Thanks

Stonedbrownguy says:

do these stereos come with factory rca wires in the back of em to hook up
to a subwoofer? i’ve been searching everywhere to find out

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

No factory stereo has RCA’s. There are adaptors available that will take
audio levels to RCA for the addition of amplifiers.

TalkingBoxing says:

don’t ever use a screwdriver to remove a panel. It can break or damage it.
Use a Bojo tool instead.

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

Removing the vents is not an easy task. I probably removed them six times
during the making of this video, so it makes it look easy.

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

Give the shop a call and speak with one of the experts, 800.428-1909.

bocap1980 says:

Very helpful thanks;)

Lesstroublesleeping says:

Great, clear video. I just received a new head unit; this video really will
help me with the install. Thanks for taking the time to put it together.

johnq29 says:

to add aux wires to my pioneer stereo so i can use my ipod i just need to
add the wires

hydropyro888 says:

Thank you

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

Possible speakers or stereo. Hook a known working speaker to a non-working
position. Usually on the 2001 Maxima the rear speakers are accessible from
the trunk side on the rear deck. Hook to the one that is not working to
test.

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

Will a double din stereo physically fit? Yes.

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

This only happens when the thief wants the stereo, he will have a crow-bar
or chain saw and there will be major damage to the dash. I have seen it!

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

The battery can be disconnected.

Jacob Held says:

Just did this the other day and oh were those screws crazy. Ended up
stripping 5 screws and having to drill them out. Thank goodness for
mentioning drilling out in the video. So instead of thinking what to do I
just drilled and it worked fine but honestly it is ridiculous how hard
those screws are to get out.

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

As I mentioned before, this is the begining of a headache. We do NO
aftermarket installation, just repair. We are no help with this project.

Utoobyourself says:

Thank you for posting this

paintballgundown8 says:

if your having a really hard time getting those last screws out, When you
are trying to remove them you are probably pusing down really hard, Well
because you are pushing down you are working against yourself trying to
screw up, so push down and tighten the screw just a nudge in order to
“break the seal” of them and then remove the screws as you normally would.
it may help prevent horror stories like the guy below me and you wont have
to drill at your radio just because of a screw

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

In order of best sound quality, worst to best, FM modulator, cassette
direct input. We add a direct audio input to these stereos for $100. This
gives the best frequency response!

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

IF, you are talking about the antenna jack? Adaptors are available at most
auto part stores or installation shops.

cfquinlan says:

Thanks for the video… it made replacing my AC/heater control unit super
easy!

champy says:

Hey, boblizcou! Thank you for this video! I’ve read instructions, but
there’s nothing like a “How-To-Video” 🙂 …and, this one’s very good!

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

@aisanshorty Mounting screws on the sides of the stereo are difficult. Try
a small hammer and tap on them to loosen.

waldo9254 says:

Awesome video. Please post one showing how you get that much chest hair to
pop out of your shirt? Is eating large quantities of beef jerky the secret?
Ha ha ha. Thanks for posting.

Zidave says:

You are the man….thank you

Ty_Zilla_1914 says:

would it be the same for a 2000 Nissan Alrima??

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

Similar, yes.

Max Lamadrid Jr says:

Do you know how to get pass the firewall on a 03 Nissan maxima ???

Factory Car Stereo Repair says:

Sorry, we do repair of factory car stereos. No aftermarket installation. Do
I know how? I can do it, have to see it, every vehicle is different.
