Well, the face will rust whenever it rains, its bare metal. As soon as you drive it though, the rust is gone. The ugly part is the “hat” that covers the hub. That rusts and looks like poo. If you paint that part though, you’re good to go

hmmm, bedding the rotor is a process that has a good bit of controversy around it. There are a few good videos on youtube on what you should do, and read up too!

next time clean the hub, put a thin coat of anti seize on the hub and the back side of the rotor where the hub meets, and clean ur shims and coat anything that metal touches or will rub metal. helps making the next time u do it A LOT easier

i have a z32…and the breaks are sooo good.. well also its 4 piston calipers and the disc are alot bigger..and i never seen a disc with directional vanes.. ima google it lol

Dunno what to tell you man haha. The gases get pushed out either way. We’ve always installed them according to how the vanes in the rotors are designed, done this on multiple auto-x and DD cars. And yup, its not going to make a REAL noticeable difference on a 240sx, especially a daily driven one. Like you said, z32 brakes are the bees knees
there is a right and wrong the slots have to face the other way so the gases created can be pushed out and not drawn in towards the middle..the just drilled rotors dont matter but slots matter.. not that ull really need it in a 240sx..best upgrade is going to z32 brakes.. i had a s14 and the brakes suckkk and i ran brembo rotors

Just use some high heat paint in the color of your choice!
There is no “wrong” way to install these rotors. The rear rotors have no vanes, and the front rotors have straight vanes. So the direction of the slots is up to you. If the rotors had vanes that were pointing in a certain direction, then yes the direction of the rotors matter and you should consult the literature included with your rotors. Here is a good article on slotted rotors that should clear things up.

slotted is for escaping gases caused by race brakes it does’t do anything for heat.
What kind of paint can did you use? I just bought some new rotors and pads and will be replacing them this weekend.
To be honest, for daily driving all that matters is durability. I have “Duralast” pads on my car, I’ve always used them. Obviously if your car sees regular track/auto-x time then you’re going to want something more performance oriented.
does it matter what kind of pads you use? i have a 90′ 240 hatch. and im replacing my whole brake system right now. so just out of curiosity is there any you recommend?
