Great job, but I can’t believe you didn’t change that cracked belt….

Temachok says:

I’m not surprized they messed up the bolt – it really impossible not to… I bet dealer would not even try to do it and say thay they can only replace the whole compressor alltogether. I damaged the bolt myself and had to cut the hole for the flat head screw driver (1:06 – 1:40) to unscrew it.
I would say let them try again, what do you have to loose – if they can’t do it, you’d have to replace the whole compressor anyway. Why not give it a try. Tell them to cut that hole for the big flat head.

Temachok says:

Ideally your should have gone to dealer first. Now they have a perfect excuse to reject you claim.

Temachok says:

Check on eBay, that’s where I got it. Look for part # 92660JA00B. There are a few listed right now for ~$160. Your local dealer also might have it separately without compressor.

…repair shop damaged the bolt. Should I be worried about the repair shop when they tell me they can definitely get the clutch fixed with now problem when I give them a second chance? I’m scared they will damage my compressor.

wwallace135 says:

i thank you so much for your reply

wwallace135 says:

yes i saw them but that one is not compatible with a nissan sentra 2010 2.0 liters

Temachok says:

There are 3 for sale on eBay right now for $160-170. Type in 92660JA00B in search box to find them.

wwallace135 says:

where did you get the part from?

Temachok says:

Luckily 2003 Altima was not press fit and I didn’t need the use “puller” tool.

Thank you KnowledgelsPowerful. I always learn a lot form commments in my videos… I’m not professional mechanic and don’t have any secial equipment. I’m just an average Joe when it comes to fixing cars. The main purpose of my video is to give an idea for those who are deciding what to do: DIY or take the car to dealership and pay big buck for this repair.

KnowledgelsPowerful says:

That line you unclip and move near the beginning of the video is not an AC line. AC lines cannot have spring clamps to connect to the rubber hose and must be machine crimped. That line is most likely Transmission or oil cooler. Second, Using the proper tools (an Air Impact Ratchet) would make removal of the Clutch plate much easier and prevent you from having to deform or modify the old bolt. Lastly, Most AC Clutches are pressed on and require a tool called a “puller” to remove and reinstall.

Temachok says:

That bolt is on Loctite. I had hard time removing it.
Also get long snap ring plyers to remove/put back snap rings. Mine were too short…
Clutch holder will be very handy as someone mentioned before.

Let us know how it went!

I’m at tech in Indianapolis Indiana. I seldom work on nissans but I have this exact thing to do on my brother in laws car.. Any words of advice or warnings I should have

Darwin karanka says:

Nice video man… i think i can fix mine now.

Temachok says:

I didn’t have the tool, but that wasn’t the problem. That bolt on Loctite was impossible to unscrew using original hex key. That’s why I ended up cutting into the bolt.

How about you, were you able to remove it with no problem?

Temachok says:

It all depends where it’s located in your car. You’re lucky if you have easy access and space around the clutch. Usually it’s very problematic to take it off the compressor, especially if it is a press fit. You’ll probably will need additional tools that you may not have. Rent them at AutoParts if possible.

I had a hard time to unscrew that bolt cuz it was sit on Locktite.

orozco53204 says:

so you dont have to remove the compressor on any car,to replace the clutch and bearing

Temachok says:

Well, I would not recommend you fixing AC compressor on your own.
Plus, it is illegal if you are not certified AC tech.
In my video I show how to replace the clutch only, without getting into compressor.

Elisber Pacheco says:

thanks for posting the follow up. I’m going to attempt this on my murano this week. Since Nissan try’s to make all their things similar, I think this will work out pretty similarly.

thanks again!
