jerome fajardo says:

can u remove the sparkplug seal out of valve cover because mine has leak on
spark plugs is ther be a replacement kit spark plug seal for that model of
engine..

jahpowerz . says:

I have the same engine like that but my problem is that I see a little bit
of oil on the coil pack when I take it out to change plugs. Is that another
gasket that needs changing or is that normal? Does the valve cover itself
need to change?

Pete G says:

for rubber gaskets like Fel Pro you dont need silicone, the rubber does the
job just making sure you dont over tighten it… for Cork gaskets you do
need the seal but those are old school

Roadeo Cowboy says:

A leaking head gasket would have other symptoms such as overheated car,
strange exhaust fumes etc…

ILYA TCHERNOV says:

Thanks David, I was positive I had to replace the head gasket before I
watched this video, but from the looks of this video I have the exact same
leak.

Raj Ram says:

Before you changed the gasket, were you loosing oil? I have a sentra also
and oil is leaking out similar to yours.

kinglangren says:

don’t mean to be nitpicky but on a rubber seal silicone is not needed and
one of the most important things is to torque the screws. having even
pressure makes a big difference. thanks

dbgtsaiyan says:

Thank you, this wasn’t so bad. Thought it was gonna be difficult. Will be a
good weekend project for me.

Roadeo Cowboy says:

Can you explain why the silicone is not needed? The original install from
the factory included the silicone.

lapantera87 says:

my cousins car just started throwing white smoke from the exhaust, is not
the head gasket, bc the car dont overheat or anything, but i noticed it has
oil in the spark plugs, i hope its the gasket on the cover, if not idk what
it could be!

Raj Ram says:

Thanks for the info. Im getting my valve gasket replaced tomorrow.I thought
it might be something worse.

Colon Cavitys says:

anyone knows what the rocker arm torque specs are

tang85atx says:

its like the gasket of an oil filter, you dont put silicone on top of a
rubber gasket. It reduces the rubbers ability to seal properly by creating
extra space.

Roadeo Cowboy says:

I was indeed losing motor oil in the sense that less than expected
quantities of oil came out during periodic oil changes.

ILYA TCHERNOV says:

The car was overheating but turns out it was because of a non-existent rad
fan fuse (car was not mine, don’t know what happened to it lol). Yeah, no
strange fumes or rad oil leakage or nothing. Everything worked just fine
after this fix. Thanks!

Roadeo Cowboy says:

No problem, glad I could help.
