Make sure you put the back cover on before turning on or else the tv won’t power on and you will think that you broke the tv while installing the DMD chip. There is a safety switch that prevents the tv from turning on without the back cover on.

Jose De La Torre says:

how do I order the chip?

brandon david says:

So…you HAD the parts FREE from Mitsubishi because of the known problem? AND then you decided to pay somebody $200.00 to unscrew some screws and put the part in? LMAO….video of how to do is right here…you’re watching it.

ega0117 says:

Do u really need a power drill????

berzerk0912 says:

Why didn’t he use a thermal paste on that DMD chip before he put the heatsink back on? That chip is going to have a short life span like the one before it.

Hilario Penaloza says:

I have a 1910-6103w. can that be swapped with a 1910-6145 chip?

dhlamar says:

I have the 60 inch DLP and I had white dots on half the screen on only my HD channels (otr and cable). I rarely use this TV and when I went to look at it about a month later the problem disapeared and this was about 7 months ago and it hasn’t reapeared.

Kevin Daniel says:

Or just call Mitsubishi, they pay for the parts as it is known problem.. I paid $200 for a professional to do it with a warranty.

d johnson says:

Completed in 30 minutes!!!! Thanks

Jody Glass says:

Chad Zuidema says:

Same here, thanks for the vid. You’re the best. No more constellation of white pixels, My wife can now play Call of Duty somewhere other than the bedroom.
Do you have any Idea how hard it is to sleep in a war zone? —probably not…
Thanks for the great video. (it did take me a little longer than 4:55
though, and a few cans of air for the fans/heatsinks)

tinikuis says:

spike378 says:

does the problem come back after replacing the new dlp chip? Did they fix it?

adsabaenterprises says:

Is it the same proceedure for the WD-65737 model?
What part number would I use? I have about 50 white dots now.

tdj7777 says:

any thoughts would be awesome and thank you in advance

tdj7777 says:

All wires reconnected, screws tight, and chip locked. I see that there is a connection on the green circuit board that is empty of a connecting wire. it is top left and second connection to the right, no connection present when case opened. small flat white wire connects to top, right, rear of green circuit board and has small blue line on wire at connection, replaced with blue to bottom and numbers on cable on top as I remember it when case opened. Have used reset button on front to no avail.

tdj7777 says:

I just changed the dlp chip in my wd 73733 and no picture now. Replaced old chip and no picture again. Sound plays fine. Remains on for about one minute and shuts off. No sound of fan running.

nathan dunn says:

Scott Figgins says:

I’m looking for the chip for a wd -65733 part no .938P075020 at a reseaonable price ,any suggestions?

HDTVEXP77 says:

You need to check the lamp its probably out.

twotallfl1 says:

i have a 73 that has white spots and now does not show video u can hear it but not see.

bkfeva72 says:

If I follow your instructions on the instillation, do I have to put some thermo paste or anything else to prevent the Television from burning out?

gerniee3 says:

Looks extremely intimidating…but I do think I’m gonna try it, unless perhaps there is a company that comes to your home to fix? I know music production, I don’t know the inside of televisions…

CalibanVOV says:

Problem solved! you HAVE to put the back panel on because it pushes a blue lever under the lamp.

This worked like a charm!

CalibanVOV says:

I have the same 73″ and just did this. Spent $165 and worked on it for 2-3 hours taking my time. I documented each connection carefully, and was very careful. I now have the same lamp flashing light as you do. Did you find a solution?

Michael Soghomonyan says:

First of all after replacing DMD Chip You need to put thermal paste on it, otherwise the DMD Chip can burn out, don’t put people in trouble. My recomendation to spent little bit more and pay labor than try to fix by own self and by reason of minor mistake kill the TV, some Mitsubishi DLP TVs have geometric adjustments for Formatter board, and if you don’t have experienced of DMD Board, Formatter board adjustments then it will be very hard.
