Hi,if you are not good at soldering or testing parts, you can send your
board for repair to this guy on ebay, for convergence problem, listing
#:230978958191,just type that # on ebay’s search bar. For blinking green
light of dead, listing #:330700000004,you don’t need membership no more
when buying on ebay.

Did replacing Your caps work ?? i have the same 65613. It looks like mine
were replaced with higher temp caps. 105c. I picked up some 85c caps 32v.
I’m putting them in tomorrow. (fingers will be crossed). But let me know if
yours worked. Because I’ll need to figure what to do next if replacing
these caps doesn’t fix mine.

I’m assuming this noise stops at some point after its been off for a while
because if I plug the tv in hours later there is no noise. I should also
add that there the picture appears to have a lot of static. All
channels..even tried unplugging stuff to see if it stopped, but no
improvement. Granted this is HD, and I have analog satellite..BUT I expect
it to be more blurry and not as sharp as hd.

Gina6868 says:

Yes-only not as loud, I muted the tv so I could hear better. Its coming
from that area of the tv that you had apart-if facing the rear, its on the
right side. It also continues for a bit after the tv is shut off. Havent
stuck around to time it. I really shouldnt be hearing anything while the tv
is on or after it is shut off correct? I have a newer model samsung 61″ in
my tv room and its makes zero noise.

Gina6868 says:

They really are total garbage. Question for you–I just purchased for
fairly cheap a used Samsung HL-S4266W. While I was viewing, I never noticed
how loud it ran. Here’s the thing–it sounds like a very abnormally loud
fan or something running in the back of the tv. In addition, it continues
to make this noise even after I shut it off. Its so obnoxious I had to
unplug it. Ive read that when the color wheel goes people hear a humming
noise, but this doesnt sound like humming to me. Any ideas?

I did take out the DM module on this Mitsubishi and I was surprised to see
the capacitors on it are not bulged. However, capacitors can still be bad
and not show any physical signs of it. Hopefully the kit I ordered is all
that is needed to fix the TV. I’m looking forward to seeing this TV work
because I heard that these Mitsubishi CRT projection TV’s out-perform
modern LCD and plasma TV’s.

lmatt22surfer says:

the noise you are referring to, does it sound like this?

Gina6868 says:

lady I got it from says they changed the bulb last fall. Supposedly there
is somewhere in the menu that tells you how many hours are on the bulb, but
I cant seem to find any info on it nor do I see it in the menu. Do you
think the color wheel might be starting to go?

mrlichenstein says:

The humming noise you would normally hear is when the color wheel shatters
and is unbalanced because there are pieces of the wheel missing. What you
describe is different, and I’m assuming the TV does power on without
problems. Does it have a high pitch to it? That may actually be the motor
on the color wheel making the noise. The noise may be coming from dry
bearings in the motor.

Gina6868 says:

Best of luck on this tv–Cant wait to see the outcome! Hadnt checked in for
awhile but was glad to hear you got that rca fixed. I gave up on mine–mine
was a hd52w59. the convergence crapped out AGAIN after only a few months
with the new board. Had to get rid of it and cut my losses..waaay too many
repairs.

mrlichenstein says:

Oops! Sent that from the wrong account. Anyway that guy managed to
lubricate the bearings in the motor of the color wheel if you see in this
video: /watch?v=7Fb2t2-THHk See how long it takes for that color wheel to
turn off. It shouldn’t take more than a minute before it shuts off

Gina6868 says:

neither of those vids really, at least not as severe…I will attempt to
video the pic. The input is a satellite cable-directv via a dvr receiver
(not hd), plugged into one of those old game system splitters type things
and then that cable from the splitter goes to tv. My son seems to think its
the cord. I may try a direct connection and see if that makes a difference.
There are moments when it seems like a faint hum. I also hear an
intermittent squeaking inside. Picture seems a bit dark.

mrlichenstein says:

I replaced mine. The originals didn’t look bad but I replaced them anyway.
My problem still remains. I am looking for any other causes and some
websites suggest that the power supply could be out if there is no standby
voltage on a connector on the supply, which I don’t have. However, after
replacing the power supply, my TV still isn’t fixed. I may be looking at a
bad DM module though I don’t know what is broken on the module. Hopefully
yours isn’t bad.

mrlichenstein says:

Regarding the image problem, there are a few things I can take from static
in the picture. Is it something like you would see in over-the-air analog
TV? Or is it something like this? /watch?v=JrcgVDbe9_w Or something like
this? /watch?v=GTr-XivzMB0 Also, what input are you using on your TV?

mrlichenstein says:

Yeah, RCA TV’s made in the last decade at least are crap. My RCA now has a
new symptom. A few months ago I was watching a movie and out of nowhere the
TV made 3 quiet ‘pops’ and each time it popped the picture flashed a
little. Ever since I have noticed small horizontal movements in the picture
and recently it seems to have gotten worse. I now have 3 of these TV’s in
the family, one in my living room, 2 are with my dad. One of those 2 had a
cracked green picture tube
