Slightly shorted compressor, its not obvious but there is a hot spot where start and run windings meet.

just a scroll fan, return air thermistor and a coil temp thermistor and a
distributer to disperse the liquid evenly through the coil. this is a verry
common unit in Aus / NZ.
@84randomdude yeh, the new ones are all R410a and Inverter driven like the
Daikns, but Mitsubishi still seems to hold a good reputation as far as
quality goes.
How old was that unit?
@coolbluelights yeah their just garden pruning cutters, your work may even
stock them since its a farm thing?
@reggieobe98 that’s something I have been meaning to do, I usually just
toss them in the steel bin. I have a Mitsubishi indoor unit that needs
disassembly soon
cool video ed i always watch your vids prob one of the guys i watch the
most ,when can we expect the motorised bike build , are you still go aheah
with it sam
I have found control board failures common on inverter models. I would use
a minisplit as a very last resort where a real system cannot be installed.
@84randomdude I’d say at least 10 years, they are some of the earlier mini
splits.
@sscustoms100 not sure on the bike, got tonns of other things to catch up
on.
@Aussie50 Oh OK. I was wondering because I am planning on installing Mr.
Slim systems in my aunt’s house if she ever gets around to building it.
lol.
@vw77 Like a werewolf :D, or Worgen I should say 😉
@Aussie50 Good. Yeah at first I wanted Daikins but there is not a Daikin
dealer around here anywhere so that is why I am going with Mitsubishi.
Thanks for all the info.
Wish I had all that neat junk I would build some cool junk things with it.
But after awhile junk is junk no body wants it.
@Aussie50 thought they looked familiar, I think we do carry those! lol
I always get one or 2 entitled douchebags like him each month, their quite
amusing actually 😀
@TheFsJunkie I could have swapped the comp over if I found a good one the
same, but its not worth it when the indoor unit is missing, needs
regassing, etc..
Hey Ed, have you ever found many horrid spiders in your units?
They are great old units, shame about the comp tho, good vid
yep!, plenty of them!. its one major thing to be aware of when breaking
down old units!
Oh shut up you blithering tosser. His videos are just fine, he gives us
information and a general breakdown of whats what. Go to engineering school
if you want minute detail you moron!
@Lachlant1984 I’ll burn the stator of the blue one :D. the rest is trash
already.
You autopsy many condensing units from split systems. You don’t see many
split systems in the USA. What components are in the evaporator?
Eee I hate spiders lol. Well, Tarantulas are interesting but feel sorry for
your guys living with all the nasties. You’ll have to film some if you see
any biggies 😀
i can tell that you enjoyed that lots :P. yer looked mint on inside!
Are you going to do any ‘lovely’ things to that compressor? Blow it up or
microwave it or something?
@V8Jagnut yeh even that shorted one from the post office was nice inside,
just a hot spot between windings near the iron stator lamination’s.
Such a beast ripping it apart with your bare hands.
wow that sure comes apart pretty easy. damn I need a pair of those
snippers.. doing it with a hacksaw takes forever
You camera is jerking too much. You are hurrying. What we are seeing that
you are just dismantling an ac randomly as you wish. Your words are not
entering our ears. It wouldn’t be something different if you were with a
hammer or bulldozer destroying everything. We need details—how everything
is joined inside and how they work. Otherwise, you know, this is just a
junkyard, nothing else.
