Mitsubishi Mirage – E-Bay Parts Cannon Fail

Mitsubishi Mirage – E-Bay Parts Cannon Fail

In this video I have a look at a customers 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage with 1200cc’s of thunder! He has been battling this EVAP code for a long time now but none of the crappy aftermarket parts have stuck so he’s throwing in the towel.
-Enjoy!

FOLLOW UP- The fella did call me about a week later after running a drive cycle and said now that EVAP system works it did flag a code for a small leak. Not sure if he fixed it himself at that point or what but he did not come back to me to see the job through. He did mention when he was working on it initially that he had a few mishaps underneath with some hoses or something like that. Any how just thought you guys should know.

I recently replaced knock sensors and harness on a 2005 Chevy Silverado with a 5.3L and they don’t work. I got the parts on eBay and it was an Ac delco part with what appeared to be new original ac delco packaging…My question is can eBay and Amazon parts be junk even if they as in this case are Ac delco and not some aftermarket ??

@martinmctier5750 says:

Preach it now knot to buy junk parts. Get the real thing it will save you money and time. Don’t be a part’s changer?

@zerog2000 says:

The ebay/amazon counterfeit problem is getting even more insidious. The cloners are experts at making the fake parts, boxes, & packaging look like OEM. If they could only spend the same amount of effort in making the parts work like oem….

@bodynfocus says:

Wife: why are you lol'ing .. what's so funny about some dude fixing cars??

@kevinkoepke8311 says:

I've bought from 1A auto before, and it sounds real that it's crap. I've swapped out parts from them with brick and motor several times. I've learned my lesson.
Even Doorman, they may supply oem parts to auto manufacturers, but they also carry crap they will sell to you in a heartbeat!

@dropinbiking92 says:

ERIC! I'm from northern Canada, but will be coming thru upstate newyork in may, and will be staying about an hours drive north of your shop. I'll be in the area for about two weeks. Would it be inappropriate to come drop by the shop during business hours? Or should I give a heads up? I've got a 30 year old Acura that I'm sure you'd get a kick out of.

@user-dv8yv7et5k says:

Mitsubishi never allowed on my place. If one of my family wants own one, they can work on it by themselves.

@tarasstecy9732 says:

I am from Winnipeg, up in Canada, and I just started watching all your videos. I really appreciate the down to earth honesty that you display. If you make a mistake, you do not try and hide it. However, your skill at diagnostics is well above average! Keep up the great work, and keep the videos coming!

@alexb1528 says:

As a tech myself, I hate to see people spend money replacing a whole bunch of parts and then often finding out simply having it diagnosed would have saved them money and also the headache.

@jeankelly2011 says:

I simply don’t understand every video about evap system. Some day I will be smart enough.

@bulkchart3239 says:

it's usually the mothers that get called bruh.

@gadasavideos8564 says:

Fortunately rockauto sells oem for much better price than our cdn dealers

@gadasavideos8564 says:

Yous guys eh?

@aaronturner1072 says:

Mitsubishi….the AMC of Japanese auto makers.

I remember when this company made cars (and SUVs) that people actually wanted.

Some way, somehow they are still selling transportation appliances here.

@tomeverett612 says:

Yeah it's funny I've watched every one of you guys videos and then I can't even check a O2 sensor to see if the heater circuit works I've watched so many videos unless I do it Hands-On I can't remember it I'll have to do it I got one here that's acting up my own farm truck but anyway I'll figure it out it runs why do I need to fix it LOL

@tomeverett612 says:

@aarondean8299 says:

You’re the best. I totally agree with you that those cheap parts are junk. Aaron from Canada

@chrisyboy219 says:

RockAuto sells just as much absolute shiiiite as eBay. eBay at least there's a good chance you'll get your money back.
