Just get a new buld and housing. Should fix it

BILLYxTEE says:

what I heard if the lamp goes bad, the thing that powers the lamp, which is
called the lamp ballast needs to be replaced

Grady Jacobs says:

Yeah, I wont buy another either. Well, at least not another DLP with a
regular lamp. The new DLPs with the LED lamp and no color wheel have no
moving parts so they should be ok i guess. The fix for my TV was to get a
new lamp. You HAVE to get the Mitsubischi brand lamp! Do not get the
generic one (even though it says Mitsu compatible) as it WILL fail on you.
Mine did twice. With my new Mitsu lamp, its been working perfectly now.
Your ins. will pay, if u complain enough, so dont settle! Good luck

Grady Jacobs says:

Oh, another thing. When my repair guy was working on it, I watched over his
shoulder and saw the code to get the hidden menu which is cool if you like
to tinker with your TV. I will post a video later or I can email them to
you. You have to make sure and write down the original values before you
change anything! You dont want to brick your TV.

Erica Perez says:

whats lamp cause my tv won’t turn on and it has a red light on lamp does
anybody know

Allen Walker says:

So you got a new lamp and it worked? Did you get a warning before it
started acting like this? Mine just started doing the exact same thing.
I’ve owned it less than a year now.

megajrj2000 says:

my does the same thing, but it doesnt make all the sounds, my dads gunna be
pisseeeeeeeedd -.-

x080903 says:

I have the same exact problem. If you unplug it and then plug it back in
(reset), it will just shut itself off after doing the fan speed changes a
couple of times. Then the next time after that, it will do the same thing
but the red light also comes back on. Have had nothing but trouble with the
piece of crap since I bought it. Will never buy another Mitsubishit
product, ever!

214macmc says:

Im having kind of the same problem, but mine T.V turns on for about 5 to 10
min. Then just turns right off and goes to the status blinkn light. I
really dont know whats the problem….

BirdDawg1980 says:

I’m haveing the exact same problem with my Mitsubishi DLP. I bought my tv
back in 2008 and the original bulb lasted 4 years and finally blew in
mid-October. The warranty from Best Buy/Geek Squad was still good and they
sent me a replacement bulb. Well the replacement bulb blew last night and
it didn’t last 2 months. My tv is doing the exact same thing that yours is
doing in the video. Is this a freak coincidence or is there something else
wrong with my tv? Any help would be appreciated.

Abner Mayer says:

these tv’s are lemons. my tv repair guy told me that he has an entire
warehouse of these waiting to get fixed. Mitsu. knows this but are playing
dumb. Be prepared to purchase a new lamp every 10-12 months. good news is
they have come way down in price. you can get them for about 140 bucks now..

Duffbeer99 says:

From what Iv’e been reading up with Mitsubishi DLP is buying a Manufacture
lamp is my best choice. My lamb just went out. I bought mine 5/6/10 from
mitsubishi website for 209 but I’m afraid if I buy one for 40 to 50 bucks
it will go out in a few months. There was a sensor issue when I bought it
but since it was under warranty I didnt paid to get it replace. It was
shutting down after a min. But it got fixed with the new sensor. Other than
that no problems with the tv.

Villie Jones-Wilson says:

YES I KNOW ABOUT THE MITSUBISHI MY DID THE SAME TO ME.. I BUY A NEW LAMP
BULB FOR IT I HOPE IT WORK.. IF NOT I’M GOING TO SALE IT WHEN I FIX IT
AGAIN !!! IT WAS TOLD TO ME EVERY TWO OR THREE YEAR I WILL HAVE THAT SAME
PROBLEM !!!

salt1nurwound21 says:

Buying aftermarket lamps is a crapshoot. I bought a $70 lamp and it lacked
brightness big time, and then crapped out after 3 months. Tried a $130 lamp
and a little closer to the normal picture quality, but again, lasted all of
5 months. Finally bit the bullet and ordered the Mitsubishi lamp for $249
and “got my tv back”. It’s been 14 months so far. It’s a serious pain in
the arse, and it’s my last DLP, but you get what you pay for when it comes
to replacement lamps. Hope this helps somebody…

keithroy woodman says:

Rusty Thompson says:

I have a 65″ HDLP Mitsubishi and have no sound. it was fine last night and
turned on today and have no sound. I just replaced a bulb last week on
another TV that is HDLP too. Any suggestions? besides replacing

Kriswixx says:

sometimes there is a is cord that detects a certain amount of heat on the
lamp.. If you pull it out, and put it somewhere lese, and clean out al the
dust with a vaccum and such., sometimes if fixes the dlp problem. made sure
the door on the back is closed, some tvs have a switch that wont turn on
unless the door depresses.. hope that helps just take photos an draw
pictures to where screws go andyou’ll be fine.

Diogenes3142 says:

Just an FYI – I had the same thing happen on two different Mitsu DLP TVs –
first one lasted 18 months, second one lasted a year. All other TVs
(Samsung and Toshiba) are fine – thx for the advice and I’ll go get a bulb
to see if that works, but never buying a Mitsubishi again.
