That 50 inch sony is a LCD projection TV. I also had 1 of those. Those tvs
have problems with the light engine going bad, and Sonys customer service
is really poor! If I were you, I’d get rid of that Sony, and go back to
Mitsubishi! Some of the best customer service I’ve experienced!
If you guys are under warranty just look on Youtuvbe replacement (DLP CHiP)
the chip is under $190.00 online it took me under 45min to replace the chip
and working like new. 🙂

Started have this problem after 4 years of having it, how much was it for
the repair mans labor.

I posted the phone number above, call Mitsubishi, and see if they can help
you out. GOOD Luck! 1.800.332.2119 If you can get the chip, they’re easy to
install, I paid $280 to have a repair guy come and do what I could have
done easily! Mitsubishi provided the DLP chip.
can you please give me the number you called for Mitsubishi? I have a 60″
and its doing the exact same thing – very frustrating! Lastly, did this
happen after you replaced the lamp? Mine did as did many according to
internet posts. I want to make sure I didn’t void my chances of getting
Mitsubishi to pay for part since I replaced lamp. Thank you!

Nice television man . I use to own a mitsubishi crt big screen 52 inch . I
was a very good television , but it was a bear to move . I own a sony 50 in
dlp not as good as mitsubishi DLP television . But at the time in 2008 they
were close to 3000.00 dollars then .So I got sony 1400.00 from sears with
warranty .
