Basic mechanic. Put piston 1 in compression check timing marks and you are ready to change the belt.

the engine is mounted in my car I needed to know how much of the engine and parts I needed to remove to be able to replace the timing belt.what do I have to do pull the engine. your video doesn't help that much thanks anyway.

Yessssssss, that was easy, brand new engine, no rust no dirt no greasy deposit, and most important out of car, on the table ready to dive, even my unborn child can finish the job, try to do the same with engine in the engine bay, then we will talk about  the ease of the work.

2000 mitsubishi diamante My crank pulley has the timing belt on it, can I just turn the crank shaft to line up the marks? I thought that was the case but it got harder and harder to turn as I advanced it? Thoughts?

Actually makes me more nervous and doubtful any mechanic would be this carefully thorough with my vehicle engine. Nowadays in my experience they just shrug their shoulders and tinker mindlessly.

Set the timing marks with the original belt still on it. Then don't move the crank or cams

Why are they doing this outside the engine bay? is it that cramped in there that you have to remove the engine from its bay?
