Bought ours in 2012.
70,000 miles on it. 82 miles range when we bought it. Now, 64 miles range.
We drove it from Chicago to Santa Monica in 2017.
No mechanical problems whatsoever.
Would buy one again in a second….most reliable car i have ever owned…(74 years old here).
One thing, all the flashing of the dashboard lights when youre driving indicates a weak 12 volt starter battery.
Just an idea.

@michaelbrinks8089 says:

I'd mount a vented metal lock box on the back that looks like it's for storage & put an inverter gas generator in it. That can be used to charge the battery and extend the range.

@ZackForester says:

Regenerative braking doesn't repair the brakes. It regenerates the battery when braking.

@johnstephens5559 says:

So you fixed nothing, helped with no knowledge. Just two guys talking and talking , and talking.
Thanks for nothing whatsoever!

@israndy says:

Probably just have a single bad cell. What did you do with it?

@paulsidneward says:

Great. The scanner is 1000 buckaroos. That is almost more than the car is worth.

@paulsidneward says:

Its not free if you have to buy the scan tools

@georgelarsen1428 says:

Can someone explain what does regenerative brakes doo ?

@boringsoftware2093 says:

X-D WEIRDEST TEST DRIVE EVER 😀 THANKS FOR ROOTING 😀

@tannermitsubishi2008 says:

Still have it?

@ivanwashington3186 says:

a pity they could not have put a better battery in it. a glorified golf cart is all it amounts to in the state it is in.

@jiveturkey9494 says:

Really depends on where you drive it I live in the city and usually just fly anywhere past New York it can do like 80-100 pure city it’s like an electric bike so it’s actually better but when going out of town I notice it loses battery faster

@MadDogTor_ says:

We love our iMiEV and I hate the way you pronounce it! It's not I-MEEV! It's I-Me-Ev.

@FlorianDiefenthaler says:

It was very helpful for me, that I found this hint.
Citroen C-Zero and Peugeot iON suffer a similar problem and also there riding the car empty to no more of the 16 charge status segments.
Recharging it with the AC- Charger to full it will pause at some 80% and have this smoothing process as well.
Mine does not have the turtle on – this typically happens, when Cell Voltage Drift is too high, as you explain at some 13:00
Cell status can be checked using an OBD-Link Adapter and the canion App on Androids.

@666MUGS says:

Range indicator is not accurate at the best of times. The bars are much more accurate. Headlights, windows, radio, etc run off the 12 volt battery. Air con and heater are connected to the traction battery.

@andretrutni3038 says:

Warum hast du deutsche Kennzeichen in der garage oO

@normancook4620 says:

Where did and what brand electronic scanner from ?

@ItsmeItsstillme says:

This car in a city situation would be good cause it will Regen constantly.

@ItsmeItsstillme says:

Do the reset every few days. It will reset from a higher point.

@ItsmeItsstillme says:

Omg this is genius

@ItsmeItsstillme says:

Tires for the small cars take a week to get its so annoying. You have to carry a tire on the roof if you travel a long distance
