This mod is a screamer and it is louder than exhaust. When it activates, I can’t even hear my exhaust. If I roll down my windows, it makes my ears ring. Well it did at first, but not anymore. Wonder why? LOL …. what? Can you repeat that? HAHAH
Also is it very much louder when it dumps to the atmosphere? or does the exhaust note drown it out making it less noticeable? my exhaust is already loud as hell and wouldnt want to take it a notch louder. Thanks.
Thanks for the info, I actually upgraded the turbo on my car but im having problems with the internal wastegate i was looking at this set up but noticed that yours doesnt have the external WG, MAP has one version with external WG so i was wondering if you can chime in on this setup, do you think it would work if i disable the internal WG and use the external WG supplied on the Map 40 gate 02 dump version?
It was great, and a lot quicker. I did not disable the internal wastegate, as this uses the internal wastegate but since the stock evo exhaust housing is divorced, the MAP o2 dump simple uses a gasket and two separate pipes. Its like an internal wastegate that dumps to atmosphere… Or an external wastegate that’s placed in the exhaust housing lol
how was the spool response? did you disable the internal WG?
hahah dude you will love it. Your ears will bleed with rejoice hahaha
i just order one, cant wait to hear that beast sound
This video makes it look easy. The main problem i encounter was the studs on the turbo because they block the manifold. I’m going to replace mine then it should be like this video.
Looked easy enough, with a hoist 🙂
I am doing my cat, front pipe and dump pipe/outlet shortly. This will help me along the way, I have a friend who works at a mechs and I will see if he can allow me to access his hoist ‘off the clock’ to get this done
That’s good info. When I bought my car it did have an aftermarket 02 housing
you’re welcome
Thanks for this video.
This is a great way to do it IF you have already replaced the stock o2 housing, and taken the studs out of the turbo and replaced with bolts. Otherwise, You’re stuck doing it the long way. It’s almost impossible to replace the stock one this way. 🙁
Is this the same for a dsm eclipse
no the map kit comes with a fresh gasket.. its a pretty sweet one too. High quality through and through is what you get when you buy from modern automotive performance. I love their stuff. I keep going back for more lol!
did you just reuse the exhaust manifold gasket
wow nice video i looked for one on evom couldnt find one this is easy lol
No air tools *_* would have been done faster. Thanks for the video
yep, roughly the same install procedure. Instead of letting the down pipe hang, pull it off and swap it out.
this is pretty much the same for their o2 dump downpipe right?
You’re welcome. It was really easy to do. Just have a good set of tools and a friend help and it is very easy.
Wow dude that was super helpful! I wish I would’ve seen this video 5 months ago.. I went through hell installing mine, getting the right tool to fit the bolts at the right angle with the manifold in the way was just a NIGHTMARE. Took hours! This seems much simpler. Thanks for uploading.
I dont know? From all that work I think I would wait and buy a few more parts to make that shit worth my time, such as full exhaust, sway bar, bushings, some other misc. things ya know. Im sure it sounds great tho…
Nice job!
A’ight..
that video is coming next 🙂 I still have to shoot that part
All this and we don’t see it in action?!?!?!
