Thanks for this great video! Just a couple of questions though.

When you took the grommets off of the old radiator, it seemed like they needed to snap-in, but when you put the new radiator in, it just rested on top of them. Is it not crucial to have them snap in? I wouldn’t think so, but doesn’t to ask.

My second concern; I’ve always learned to put a 50/50 mix of water & coolant in radiators to avoid having the coolant turn acidic over the years. Do you advise against that?

Thanks again!

is this the same as a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse rs ? or is it a different way of doing things?

great video bro!! thanks so much! we need more people like yourself in this world bro! I have an eclipse this helps a lot

Steakneggs Hernandez says:

am i right to assume that this cars radiator is identical to the 2000 eclipse? car looks exactly the same engine wise

Erekai says:

I have a 2002 Eclipse, and it’s funny how much this looks like my car… even down to the JB Weld trying to temporariliy seal the crack on the radiator. This video was very helpful, thanks!!!

MrDelgado559 says:

Nice video I replaced my radiator and put a aluminum mishimoto radiator

deat122 says:

I suppose apart from the youtube channel, your camera gives you an extra set of eyes when watching multiple things?

jakeakcent says:

so at 0:30 when you turn the heater knob to hot to allow coolant to flow through the heater core, what if your heater core is bad. Will that make turning the knob to hot pointless?

steffydog1 says:

Cool video 🙂

AZWIN90 says:

i have a problem with my 98 dodge neon the car overheats randomly it seems like, i just pull over let it cool for a sec and add coolint and it goes away. the heat gauge runs below half ( normal ) while im driving but if i stop to run into a gas station or something and come back out it will be hot again. i start the car, and by the time im out of the parking lot its back to normal.

This is awesome man.

Thank you for posting this video online, I just finished changing the radiator in my 2004 eclipse along with both upper and lower hoses. This video saved me $600!!

CruisinTR says:

The procedure outlined in the video would also apply to Australian built Mitsubishi Magna and Verada models as they use the same 24-valve 6G72 3.0L and 6G74 3.5L engines in the same layout and configuration.

N1GHT5 says:

Another relaxing video, you make it look just so easy. Personally every little car trouble is a headache for weeks for me (:
Keep it up, we need more cars like this – 240SX, Eclipse, E30, MX5 etc you get the idea 😉

Cassaundra Spargur says:

Thank you so much for this video! I was debating on whether or not to take on this project by myself or take it to a shop. Looks like I can save a couple hundred dollars. Thanks again for the amazing details!

wizkid01 says:

that yellow coolant funnel is covered in dirt, could do with a wash… after all dont want contaminants mixing with coolant

Nike Air says:

Hook & Ring Films says:

Seriously bro, you rock! Awesome video!!!!

goldenglove25 says:

so why didnt you flush the cooling system?

ncarter124 says:

That is when the thermostat opens and the entire cooling system starts to circulate. The bubbles are just air that got trapped in various places from doing the radiator swap.

Ken V says:

Help. I myself have a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse gt 3.0 liter and my engine temp gauge raises up to a little bit below the hot line only while driving, not at idle. I just replaced my thermostat and the problem still occurs. The oil seems to be normal (not milky) and the coolant level is topped out and has normal color to it (greenish bluish). I did open up the radiator cap and all i see inside it pure clean metal and no liquid. Is there supose to be noticable fluids under the radiator cap? Thanks

Kyle4theBible says:

Great video I needed a refresher on radiators and this definetly gave me some more confidence. I forgot about opening the heater valve for the heater core.

rosadolynn says:

Hi i checked this video and i own a 2002 Galant GTZ 3.0L V6 and without looking at the car detail it looks to me like its the same Layout in the Engine and such of my car if there is a way you can confirm this to me via mail here on youtube i would appreciate it BTW Great Video Keep it up.

apachelives says:

was that oil in the coolant bubbling up after running at 17:23 ?

Marijn Konings says:

What works for rusty bolts is giving it a good wack with a hammer. Put a metal rod on the bolt first, then smack as hard as you can. I use it all the time on trucks.

americanbrit1 says:

This was so helpful and well put together! You saved me a ton of money, I’m gonna need to buy you a beer my friend!

Shawn Hashemi says:
