Hi just bought a 2003 Galant, mechanic wanted to charge $400 for this!
This video is really helpful…but I don’t know what you mean by “open the
throttle”. Sorry…I’m new at this but following your video as closely as I
can. Pls Respond! Thanks!

HERNAN BUSTELO says:

Thanks! Thanks! Thanks! Throttle body / IAC valve / MAF sensor were VERY
dirty, especially the throttle body and IAC valve. My 2001 Mitsubishi
Galant now runs like new!! You just saved me a lot of time and money with
your video – if you ever come to Puerto Rico all the beers and drinks are
on me!!

Saul Ortega says:

I have a 2009 mitsubishi galant, if I do the same thing, does the throttle
body need to get re program? If you can please answer me ASAP. Thanks man.

Chris Schill says:

Omg thank you for posting, so many ppl on club3g just say to clean these
but they just assume u know how, was very PO’d

clinkowich says:

awesome dude, thanks

Jesse Rueda says:

I have a 96 eclipse and I was recommended to do this cleaning but I was
wondering if anyone else had this done and it cleared up a shifting
problem.. it seems a little hesitant as to which gear it should go to as
well as dies at stops. Any feedback would be great!

ThecPTclan1 says:

I have a 2002 eclipse spyder, nd a.few days a ago I put an intake in it, so
I was gunna clean my MAf sensor. As I was at auto zone buying that exact
can… I read on the can, to not use that cleaner on Mitsubishi vehicles,
dies any body know what that’s about? Had any one tried it lmk plz!

Usc529 (Jay) says:

Autozone has them for 200-300 bucks so do not pay $800 there adding labor
cost with that and its so easy to put in anybody can do it. Its only 3
screws

mauri7581 says:

I really appreciate that I will do this today.

Usc529 (Jay) says:

It def. wouldn’t hurt are your brakes in good shape.Im not sure about the
jerking sounds like it might be the brakes are something to do with your
front end since your trannys new an all.

Chris Orozco says:

Yesterday I had a first cylinder misfire keep happening and it was
bothering me a lot and 4 months ago I just let the misfire go and it winded
up blowing my coil packs which I was stupid and paid a shop to fix, $400. I
changed my sparkplugs, noticed the strange fluctuating RPM, did everything
this video said and now my 11 year old GS with 106k miles is running
perfect! A/C on and off! No stalling, choking, dying, I love it! Thanks
man, your thread on Club3G was super helpful! Thanks! Cost me $4!

chawki El matichi says:

maybe the injectors are dirty try cleaning them or changing them

Usc529 (Jay) says:

lol Did it fix your problem?

bossdeltapollito says:

my 2000 eclipse has a problem with the iac… i clean just like the video,
now the car revs all the way to 3000 rpms do i need to change the iac?

graveplott47 says:

can you spray the sensor ?

Usc529 (Jay) says:

No I had no shaking and my rpm’s wasnt going that high.I just had very low
idle and car was cutting off at red lights and stop signs.Clean it and see
what happens it might need replacing.

Usc529 (Jay) says:

@one4all101 No i just sprayed it a couple times,it really didn’t look that
dirty but it doesn’t hurt to spray it anyway

edagustin says:

If it’s dirty, would it cause the Check Engine Light to go on? I went to a
mechanic and he told me the whole throttle body needs to be replaced! I
would like to know your opinion.

lastburn1 says:

thanks for info.. i have the same car…wish you knew how to change timing
belts. lol i just had that done….

jos76e831 says:

Hey i have a 2001 eclipse and im experiencing the same problem. one small
question, did ure rpm meeter keep moving while u wer coming to a stop?

Usc529 (Jay) says:

Alright man glas it helped out watch out my power steering went out at
153,000 miles so now I gotta fix that lol

Eric Black says:

Great video! It helped me with an old car I have (2003 Mitsubishi Galant
v6). The service engine light came on and I was experiencing rough idel and
some failed start-ups. I took it to my local auto parts store and they
plugged in the code reader and it gave a IAC flow low. The part was around
300 dollars. Youre video saved me alot! After cleaning it all proplems went
away. P.S. the engine on your Eclipse is very similar to the Galant.

Usc529 (Jay) says:

yea make sure you clean it real good.

Justin Broderick says:

i did everything in your video….im still having same problems….so i
went and got a new iac valve….same problem….new plugs wire cap and
rotor …same problem…..any help?

Usc529 (Jay) says:

yes clean your trottle body and Iac valve and your maf sensor

Usc529 (Jay) says:

I dont think it will work 4 & 6 cylinders are totally different motors so
it could be different,go check it out and compare the sizes of both of them
if there the same size them give it a try .

Usc529 (Jay) says:

@mclane345 yes it did idle low so low it would cut off on me when i
stopped. It seems like the idle air control valve goes bad on the 2000 ,2001
eclipse after 140,000 miles. Guess i was lucky i just cleaned mine and it
idles fine now and its been a year.As far as the holding back,it could be
something to do with the idle air valve or the intake. Give it a good
cleaning and let me know how it rides.

Glen Kowalski says:

According to the Hayes Manual, the throttle body cleaner should get no
where near the IAC! As a $350 part, I would thing twice about that step.

79nutterbutter says:

Not a bad how to vid but you might want to read the back of that MAF
cleaner, it’s not supposed to be used on certain vehicles and Mitsubishi’s
are one of them and I think Lexus as well. I’m not sure why, I’ve never
heard of anyone having any problems using it but just thought I’d throw
that out there.

Usc529 (Jay) says:

@ericblack92 Thanks man glad i could help
