ICEddie says:

I am about to give you what's been driving a lot of people mad with the 2010 Mercury not starting, every 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, month etc. Then you're stranded. Everybody thought that it was the alarm system the PAS? That was the symptom here is the disease and the Cure. If I could charge for this I would, because I would have paid 300+ bucks to get this fixed, it probably cost me, literally three thousand, over the course of three or four years. (E. CONNOLLY 23 SPOON SQ. FRONT ROYAL VA 22630) should you feel as elated as I did and a little generous. Well here it is. This may not be the fix for some of you, but maybe just in another area of your car. I started to rock my car when this happened for about the hundredth time. Don't know what made me do it? But it started. So I took it to the Ford dealer and told them, so they scoured the undercarriage. Here is what it was. a f**** ground wire (twisted cable) running from my battery to the transmission, had rusted out and caused to short the PSA Factory security system. I hope this helps a lot of people keep their sanity and money. I had at least three starters, two alternators a key cylinder replaced because they played me at the dealer. Now. Go get your car fixed.

Hi. I have a 2011 Mercury Mariner Premium with a touch screen. I just replaced the battery. Now my clock is not working. I tried to set it but all the features on my screen are grayed out so I'm not able to change the time. All other features are back to normal. Please help.

Will Selvey says:

Mariner’s are really good cars if you maintain them

Lee Kress says:

08 Mariner instrument complete warning light cluster lights up the tach and speedometer both die. Random. Try to start anti theft and some other lights come on, won't start random. Sometimes no response at all sometimes starts right up and works for awhile which also keeps the cluster from lighting up. Temperature change and humidity also affect it.

Wm Brian Savacool says:

This is good but you should research your issue further. These are all common issues.
1. Steering U-joint can be replaced separate of the steering shaft. Yes Ford does say to replace the shaft with the joint, but If you're watching this, you can probably only afford to replace the failed part, as that is what is still available. (Ford TSB 10-13-2) Yes you should get it aligned along with steering angle/torque sensor. (which may also need replacement).
2. This No-start is not typically a bad ignition cylinder as it is a bad Ignition Lock Module. This is the switch rotated by the ignition cylinder. These tend to fail in 08-10 models.
3. Blower resistor. Many owners, my self included, have had to replace the blower resister at least once as they fail early on this vehicle. You don't need to out-right replace the blower b/c of this.
4. no comment.
5. Depending on the trouble code, you may not have to replace the entire steering column when replacing the steering angle sensor. Hint. There have been reported issues of Ford charging you for it if the parts fail after performing the prophylactic software update. (Ford Recall 14S05)
