Something that is worth noting. It seems that the “QUEUE” folder that
should be under “C:xamppMercuryMail” is missing at least in the Xampp
v1.8.3 installation. I kept getting a “421 Service Not available” error
from the SMTP server and never knew why until I found a post in a forum
where someone had the issue.
Bravo!!!! The best tutorial!!!!
great ….
Thanks – saved me lots of time and hassle.
Very good tutorial!!

@catchpprince You need to be more specific than that. What errors did you
get? Are you using XAMPP or did you install each service separately? Did
you watch through the video and setup mail relaying (Mercury End-To-End has
trouble sending to popular mail servers.)? Can you send mail to yourself
from another domain name?
I had the same problem, it was simply I was using the wrong password for my
SMTP server
Great tutorial. I skipped thunderbird and was still able to do everything
smoothly.
also did u have to disable UAC?
Hey this was very helpful, but I cannot get past the part where you create
the account on thunderbird. Everything works if i use @localhost, but when
I use @domainname, it returns the error “Thunderbird Failed to find the
settings for your email account” and yes I have forwarded the ports,
created the account in Mercury.
I like your guide. It actually helped me set up my own server. thanks for
this
Hey, I have followed all of the steps but the emails dont come to my inbox
in Thunderbird. One thing though, the site is still being developed so it
does not have a name like example.net, I just write localhost there. Please
help….I don’t know how to fix this
very nice tutorial – compliments !
great tutorial, it’s the best!
@NessDan Thnx a lo for your help. I just changed thunderbird and it worked!!
This is awesome. Used it to configure the mail client for a new website
hosted from my home. Thanks for the upload.
Thank you very much!! It works very well with Gmail. King regards McVelsen
best tutorial about peice of shiit mercury. WTF created this messed up
looking shiiit.
Thanks NessDan, after ages of stuffing around I gave up. Seeing this gave
me new hope and I have finally got it working! Thank you very much!
I heard that my mail provider blocked the outgoing mail system for me but I
read that there is a solution some say you can just change the port from 25
to somrthing else and then it should work can this be correct?
I experienced this spam multiple times until i was banned from mail servers
from my ISP. After a long chat with my ISP it was unlocked and i was able
to secure my mail server with the connection control module and set a range
from 0.0.0.0-255.255.255.255
@eliden I’m not! I serve Jesus Christ! But I’m happy the video helped you!
if i have 2 websites so how can i create a user?
NESS DAN U ARE A GOD! THANKS!
First off, great vid. I could use some help though. I can send mail locally
on the Mercury server but I can’t sent to another mail server, the Jobs
just sit in the pending state in the status queue. This is the error
message generated: Temporary error 249 (temporary MX resolution error)
resolving ‘hushmail.com’. I don’t have a domain name, is this necessary?
Could I use a sub-domain? Thanks in advance.
very good tutorial 😀
You probably configured Mercury E incorrectly. I would try sending to your
Gmail account (Mercury C). Then trying to use Mercury E again after
reconfiguration.
@orrlevinger Yes. When an email is sent to “user@example.com”, the server
behind “example.com” processes the message. If you have a server running
Mercury, but no domain name, you can actually send the email to your IP
address. I’m not sure you want this though. Even if all you want is to send
mail from your GMail using your own domain name, you still need to own the
domain name. Did I answer your question clearly?
good video! could you post a tutorial on setting up the DNS?
NessDan, I can not hear the sound of the video ( or broken sound from
video). I am wondering if I am the only one or other people also have this
problem. is it possiable to ask you to email this video to me (
Learnweb12@gmail.com ). thank you!
@cradic3143 Agreed; this cut right to the chase and took all the mystery
out of setting up a mail server with Mercury. Thanks, NessDan!
hey, it was very informative but i am not able to send an email through a
php script similar to yours using mercury mail server to
“someone@gmail.com”.. how do i do that..any help would b gr8..
lol nice mic.
Wow!!! Grandma doesn’t even know how to email….2 thumbs up.. you’re the
man… (“,)
Yes – the sound file is broken on this video.
@W4RHED It’s hard to say. Check your log files and see if there’s a problem
there.
ok now concerning encryption…how does that work
Great Tutorial!
That is a seriously good tutorial, thanks! It’s all setup now in 10 minutes.
You are best man!

Server? (So the server becomes secure)
