How to remove it is @ 4:35 in the video. You want to Lift the tab up with a screwdriver and rotate the Pcv valve up and counter clockwise like your unthreading a bolt off the back valve cover! This is what needs to be done to correctly replace the pCV valve.

A tip, it's a good time to change the gaskets, change the spark plugs and clean the throttle body while you are in there so you don't have to do all this again.

Ricky Pisano says:

On my ford 500 Limited the PCV is easy. Right on top.

Jeff O. says:

dude your videos would be much better if you actually spoke up with instructions. you sound like your whispering sweet nothin's to the engine like its a drunk hooker at the bar… just saying.. lol

Brian Hind says:

It is possible to change the PCV valve using a pair of very long nose pliers. Who the Hell would use a socket on a plastic part.?
I am told the correct size socket is 23mm, but I certainly wouldn't use one. The Ford Escape(mine is a 2003) 3 liter is a pain in the ass do do many things. Burying the alternator under the engine & near the exhaust so that it is exposed to heat, having to remove the passenger side wheel & then a fender well panel , a dust shield, the right half shaft, & then the alternator from the bracket & then the bracket from the block, & in some years a cooling housing, & then twist & turn the alternator to fish it out of the hole where the half shaft goes is inexcusable. The video left gaps in procedures that presumed the viewers were knowledgeable enough that showing these were unnecessary. The voice instructions were mumbled & difficult to hear. Folks reasonably adept at working on vehicles would benefit from this video, but those who need ordered step by step instructions were excluded. More is the pity.

Jerry Black says:

I don't think you ever showed how to put in a second PVC valve

Greg Schmidt says:

what year escapes is this for? Maybe add to the title. thanks for the video.

Poet dialect says:

You skipped the part of putting the valve back in. Would the valve only go in one way, just replaced mines and I heard it clip on but it doesn’t feel tight

Susan Asker says:

Wow Bud! This was a very thorough walk through. Good Job!

fabio40 says:

Ridiculous. On any other car replacing a PCV value is a 30 second fix.

INCISIVO Tv says:

now i remember why a fucking hate thar dam car… fuck you escape

Kalryn Darkpaw says:

what year is this escape? Kinda important

Charlie B says:

wow you sure are thorough. I had to watch all the way to 4:30 seconds just to see the part I need needed.. Thank you.

Whiskey 1 Mantis says:

I remove my the MAF to airbox boot thing. Use a 1/2 inch drive 6+ inch extension and 12 point 7/8
If you are in front the drive end of extension is at about 2 o clock at about 5 standing on drivers fender.
R&R PXV hose, try to find a silicone replacement to use.
Push wiring harness harness aside engage the socket turn counter clock wise bout a 1/4 turn

Van Antonio ROLLE says:

You take about changing PCV valve but what about the housing .. I removed my housing and you guess right I have to remove the intake housing and both heads and I discovered a heavy build up of old oil. I wish to remove the block and do an overhaul.. How difercult is it. with cleaning all the moving part.

Ted S says:

What a p.i.t.a. for such a common part! Me, I try not to eff around so my inspection camera(or mirror) would be out quick likely with appropriate needlenose pliers. And putting the new one in shouldn't need a socket either; its a plastic part with a bayonet mount. If you value your time &/or are trading it for $$, this is a flip chore; get it in & get it out.

Simon Black says:

You don't have to go through all that. Just reach under there, and grab, twist, and pull out. No need to remove the whole manifold. I've done it twice. It's a challenge, but way easier than removing the whole manifold.
