How to Replace a Front Wheel Bearing

Wheel Bearing Replacement. Learn how to replace a wheel bearing hub assembly. This is a 2007 Mercury Mountaineer, Ford Explorer but the process will be very similar for replacing any wheel bearing hub assembly with an axle running through it. I was quoted over $650 at the stealership to do the job again so save a ton of money and do it yourself and do it properly so it won’t fail again.

That looks like the CV Joint, Strut, and brakes were all done quite recently. How did they get done without anyone noticing the bearing was bad?

I am gonna try to replace the left front bearing on my 2013 Honda Civic EX but all I can find is just the bearing and not the assembly online. And I wanna avoid needing a press, do they not replace the entire assembly? Any suggestions?

Well made video. This proves I should outsource all of this mechanical stuff. So much more rewarding to have someone else do it for me. That issue with getting the hub (or whatever it's called) off….that would happen to me every single time. Bet my life on it.

CaliFan says:

You can just push the cap out and dont have to work the metal ring out. Why easy when complicated eh?
