Awesome, great video. I want to get mine changed pretty soon and would
really like to try it myself. Just had my front barrings and control arms
replaced (almost got charged 600$ for it). Hopefully I’ll get a chance to
replace all my shock absorbers within a yr or so when I get the time and
money lol. But hopefully near after college graduation! Thanks again for
great vid

Danny Burger says:

how much would this cost at a repair shop to replace front and back?

Robert Vinson says:

Garages like Midas charge more for 4w drive. I don’t see why there is a
difference.

Mickey4u says:

Hello. Quick question here. Do you need an alignment after changing the
rear shocks?

1A Auto Parts says:

You’re welcome. Thank you for visiting our auto repair channel on YouTube.

This is really helpful, thanks

1A Auto Parts says:

Any work done to a cars suspension should be followed up by an alignment
but is not always necessary but is normally done as a precautionary measure.

1A Auto Parts says:

Unfortunately we do not have anything other than the OEM style Monroe quick
struts.

killeninicent says:

i have never seen so much rust man.

1A Auto Parts says:

@sxewhodey Yes and somewhat yes. If you have an older Exped with a live
rear axle then the procedure is basically the same. If you have a newer
Expedition with independant rear suspension then it is still applicable but
there may be differences.

bababa39 says:

1A Auto Parts says:

@stjenka I’m not sure who might carry them for that particular vehicle.

stjenka says:

@1aauto ok, do you ship worldwide? To EU?

ArizonaChillin says:

Guys…….thank you.

stjenka says:

@1aauto Ok thank you anyway, can I buy non gas shocks?

1A Auto Parts says:

@stjenka The replacement shocks that we carry as a replacement shock are
the gas charged ones.

hp11208 says:

is this the same for 2001 explorer

07GreyYFZ450 says:

nice video but my 03 Explorer has struts not shocks you don’t have a video
of replacing struts instead of shocks by chance do you?

stjenka says:

@1aauto Understood. Thanks for posting and your patience. Have a good day.

1A Auto Parts says:

@medic4life100 Yes it is the same procedure to replace the shocks on your
2002 Ford Explorer.

DMethod13 says:

awesome guys, very well done.

stjenka says:

Hey, you guys do a great job helping people …so can I ask a question
about my Explorer, 1996? Can I buy regular (not gas) rear shock absorbers?
Will it fit? It’s really hard to find the ones with gas and they are rather
expensive where I come from. Thank you for your answer.

phordguy says:

Not sure if they have them at 1aauto (would think they do) but the “Monroe
58617 Sensa-Trac Load Adjusting Shock Absorber” has an extra coil spring on
it that will usually help give the rear end of your explorer a 1.5″ lift to
fix the aging and sagging rear leaf springs. They would install in the same
method as shown in this video.

1A Auto Parts says:

@stjenka HI, Sorry we typically ship to the US and Canada only.

BlacknRedTed says:

Thanks alot guys. You guys are saving me money by showing me how to do
stuff on my truck myself. I have alot of the tools you guys have because my
brother is a mechanic, and seeing this is helping me out alot.

1A Auto Parts says:

@hp11208 Yes this should be the same for an 01 Ford Explorer.

1A Auto Parts says:

@bababa39 Thanks for checking us out. We carry a ton of parts for these
trucks on 1aauto.com
