Haven’t used one of those jacks in a long while.

The Carter Hour says:

@VICNASTY1989 I am really surprised that you didn’t get the air suspension
on your car, since you have a heated win shield rare option on any 90+ and
leather and JBL audio. Some 84-91 came with Rear Air Suspension, while from
my understanding it wasn’t available on the Town Car till the new model in
90. I happened to be browsing autotrader one day and came across a mint
1990 with RAS, it was a Texas car.

River man says:

thanks, figured it was soemthing like that, but didnt wat to break
anything. keep on making vids…;>) changing out break pads on mine today.
if I knew how to make a vid I would, but then I would have to learn how to
edit out all that time scratching my head.

raptor80786 says:

that is a wierd design having the jack go into the bumper. good thing it is
holding up well

VICNASTY1989 says:

Sure can, just watch your lug diameter.- Crager SS would be pretty sick on
this car, I thought about getting Crager Nomad I rims. -Thanks for watching!

Aquiles Castro says:

question …where do you get white wall tires just like that? it would suck
to have 3 white walls and 1 plain black tire wouldn’t it?

McVaio says:

The instruction video should be called: “how to damage your wheel”.

Jake Thefog says:

What if you dont have that hook thing to take off the hub cap how do u take
it off w/o it?

VICNASTY1989 says:

@McVaio Trust me I’m very careful- but that blanket idea is a good one I
had never thought of that before- I will have to try it. With your ’94 GM
look for spare caps or wheels (which ever is damaged) in a junk yard there
usually fairly economical. I know if I want to get a spare Ford C. Turbine
15″ wheel its $40 (with a good tire) and the lug covers are only $.50. I
will post so new Grand Marquis videos soon, thanks for subscribing!

menace96 says:

Can you put cragar ss or american racing wheels on these

VICNASTY1989 says:

@HEZM2 That was my German neighbor who actually work for VW North America
and got that as a company car. Thanks for watching!

VICNASTY1989 says:

That would suck!- Most of the tires fitted to these rims such as the
Goodyear P215-70R-15 (pictured in the video) have both black and white
striped sides, you just have to tell the tire shop which side you want.
Although now adays it is common to see these tires marketed with BW
sidewall (meaning “Black wall”), if you are shopping look for WW (white
wall) sidewall tires. The white wall isn’t really that rare. -Thanks for
watching!

Peter Luzifer says:

The Vw Jetta Find in the background is not bad!

The Carter Hour says:

@IncredableDrE Civics and Prius’ come with a V-6? There goes that savings
out the door. LOL

Jesus Peralta says:

where can I find a bumper jack like that for my 1979 Lincoln continental?

VICNASTY1989 says:

@mastermind48451 I do not have air-ride- just a standard suspension.

VICNASTY1989 says:

@jakefoggia124 It would be pretty hard without it, but if you got something
like a screw driver behind the cap at one of the pillars it should pop
off.- Thanks for watching!

The Carter Hour says:

@mastermind48451 Never mind the tire off answered that question LOL

VICNASTY1989 says:

@McVaio I know exactly what your talking about, but that is the only way to
get that Conical turbine Lug cover off. If you do it properly and carefully
there is no damage. If you are talking about the steel wheel- I have
atleast 3 of those sitting around and they are only $20 in junkyards.

Shane Parker says:

Why didnt you put the rim on? Can you not put the rim on ever again if you
change the tire?

McVaio says:

@VICNASTY1989 Cool =) You have a nice car, it’s good to know that you want
to keep it that way 😉 Unfortunately there are no yarded Grand Marquis
around here =( It would be nice indeed to have some spares. I will have the
wheels on my GM refinished, the are corroded along the rims. And then I
will buy a set of steel wheels for the salty winter days. The bad thing is,
my GM is my winter car. I drive my LeBaron in the summer.

IncredableDrE says:

@VICNASTY1989 I have only had to change the tires on my hybrid civic and
prius both once. It was a B because they are as heavy a a full sized sedan
because of their v6 and electric engines

TheSuperCRASHer says:

Yeah Dude im thinking of Buying an 89 Mercury Marquis and I have a 97
Mercury Marquis so Basically some of the Parts on my 97 would fit on the 89
right?

IncredableDrE says:

@VICNASTY1989 They are donuts for the civic and the prius

IncredableDrE says:

@VICNASTY1989 My neighbor is german and he drives a volks wagon passat. Lol

Indogyearsimdead says:

Actually torque does matter on a steel wheel, its just not as critical as
an aluminium wheel 😉

VICNASTY1989 says:

Yeah, I’m pretty sure 1991 was the last year any manufacturer used a bumper
jack. Its a really antiquated feature, plus its really dangerous on a hill
(for obvious reasons- LOL!)- Thanks for watching!

VICNASTY1989 says:

@TheShaneWorld18 I just needed to fix the tire, it had a nail in it. I put
the aluminum rim back on after I did that, there completely interchangable.
-Thanks for watching!

The Carter Hour says:

Great Demonstration, Bumper Jack hahaha, I remember those days and using
that kind of jack, scared the shit out of me.

McVaio says:

@VICNASTY1989 Yeah I was talking about the crowbar against the light alloy
wheel >.< The center caps on the wheels of my '94 GM are made of chromed plastic. They have damage around the removal holes, it really sucks. I always put a thin blanket around the tool I use to get them off, to prevent any scrathes on the clearcoat of the wheel or the caps.

VICNASTY1989 says:

@IncredableDrE You should feel how heavy the steel spare for this car is
its a 15″ rim with a wide tire- has to be atleast 50 lbs. Did you have the
full size spare options for those cars?

The Carter Hour says:

Do you have air ride on your MGM?

Jeremy Lewis says:

Dude cool vid I have an 88 crown vic and I take any excuse to use the
bumper jack. Its just cooler to me

The Carter Hour says:

@VICNASTY1989 I know I used mine once on the 1991 when I had it, and it
either rolls a bit or gets wobbly when using that type of jack. I generally
just used a cheap floor jack….LOL Yes the front, unless you block it does
roll.

Peter Luzifer says:

@VICNASTY1989 also work at Volkswagen in Germany Wolfsburg.THX for the nice
explanation.

VICNASTY1989 says:

@mastermind48451 I think it scared the shit out of everyone that’s why they
stopped using them! LOL! Did you see me get nervous when it rolled forward
a little bit?- Its really silly jacking the back end of a RWD car up that
far because the front still rolls. LOL!
