No, just the usual maintenance, fluid changes, plugs, etc. This is the only issue I have had with a Merc other than being cold starters.
I hear ya . I went out tonight at 5pm to see if the Sperm Whale was still on the beach .It appears they towed away before I got there .It was 40ft long .I saw it on bay-9 today when I was at work .
Yea either u have to live on the water & as you say with a lift. Or else dry dock at a place and call saying Ill be there saturday AM please have in water. Would have never paid $400 plus to store it on water. Much as I’d like to live on the water I’d hate to flood. Perhaps now renting a boat would be a choice……..lol

Sounds like you might have a defective temp sending unit . Have you ever changed the t-stats out , water impellor ?

My i have a ’95 Merc 125 that sets off the over heat alarm. It is never actually hot and has been in the shop twice, given a clean bill of health each time. i wonder if this could be the issue?
