It is my understanding that the haynes manual has you pull the headlights and front bumper out of the car to replace the radiator. Really?? WHY would they do…

can y ou use these steps for the ford 2000 taurus se seems like tha same
radiator
Yes the trans cooler lines take a quick disconnect tool shown in beginning
of video. As far as not starting afterward idk. Does it crank at all?
Thanks dude good video and tutoring my radiator is leaking so I need to
replace it this will be my first replacement job so I am counting on this
video thanks for the service
Adam – thank you for posting this video. It was exactly what I needed. I
just replaced the radiator in my 2003 Taurus and the steps were exactly as
you described, except that I was able to reach the three bolts on the A/C
condenser (starting at 3:10 in the video) from behind the bumper by
reaching up from the bottom. Also, a tip for folks doing this replacement,
the Ford transmission line quick-disconnects are anything but quick if
they’ve never been disconnected for several years. I used the light blue
tool you described in the video (part number AC502 from a popular auto
parts store) but it took a LOT of force to get the lines out of the
radiator. By the way, I noticed the Kentucky license plate, I’m in E’town.
Hi Adam, Would this work on the 1997 Taurus. I can’t find the screws at the
top of the rad that you use the magnet on so that is why I am asking as
mine is ’97
Yes the 97 taurus should be the same. Also thanks to the person with the
grease idea to hold the bolts in place for you.
Next time record with your iphone on landscape mode.
Yep, once I realised that the top bolts are NOT mounted vertical but
horizontal I found them and all went well UNTIL I found the rat that had
been in my garage and vanished the day after I put rat poison down. It was
stuck between the fan and the radiator… gross… NOW all I have to do is
work out how to use the quick disconnect tool for the cooler lines. No need
for a magnet just use some grease in a 10m socket. That will stop the bolt
from dropping out of you socket.
Oops. I just watched my video and realized I said 3/4 ratchet. I meant 3/8.
Sorry for the confusion. Running a 24hr cab service I dont get much sleep.
Awesome! Saved time!
Hey thanks for the advice. Glad the video helped out.
