Keep up the good work on the Grand Marquis Chad! It’s always cool to bring
a classic like that back up to snuff. You got power windows again, now to
fix the A/C for those Texas summers. I can help when you do decide to take
that on, I got the van’s A/C working great with R-134a.
@retrochad , this really doesn’t have anything to do with this video, but,
have you ever tried to put Lucas Motor Oil stabilizer in the Grand Marquis?
It seems like this car is your daily driver and Lucas will help keep that
engine alive, it works good both in cold and hot weather.
@rmx77 I know what you mean but in certain casesI need to disagree…I
don’t like the way the factory did some things. I don’t want to have to
remove the entire dashboard panel and radio to replace that relay again.
This car is not a show car, it does heavy hauling in extreme temperature
conditions and I need to be able to monitor the engine temperature. This is
more like an old tractor, something in which ease of repair, durability and
functionality is the most important thing.
i myself just dont like altering anything really. i’m more like if it wasnt
there in the first place it shouldn’t be there at all. i try to be all
original, like original relay and original parts. i also like the car to be
factory original at all costs no extra gages or anything else. i am just
that way lol

All of that is very true! My daily driver is a 1978 Chevy G10 Van. I get a
lot of compliments on it because it’s a nicely kept classic.
You can probably find another gauge cluster on eBay. I can’t find one but
just keep checking every week or so. I’m sure you’ll find one eventually.

Great, the lamp test worked! The lamp test is amazingly effective and
simple and cheap.

mechanism lol
welcome to CARS 🙂
again nice vid Chad
There’s something about an older vehicle that appeals to folks, besides
they’re easier to work on, and parts are cheaper.
