I have found none on the web so… I thought I put my 2 cents in…..

Hey I have question I have 85 hp mercury thunderbolt and the wiring on it was bad so I'm using my old wire harness from a 105 chrysler and I have a blue,purple and green wire on my chrysler harness and a brown wire on my mercury I'm not sure where it goes and why I have 3 extra wires?
for anyone trying to figure out the year of your motor, find the serial number on it, then go to oldmercs.com – they have a model year guide – that's how i discovered mine.
Great Video! I have the same motor with the same issue. I was wondering if you had any issues pulling the fly wheel or the best way to make sure I don’t mess up the timing when reinstalling the flywheel or any other issues you may have had disassembling. Thanks!

Hi..i have a 70hp merc 1978..wont start..does nothing when i turn the
key on.Battery is new,solenoid is new and starter works fine.I even
tried to start it off the solenoid,but doesnt even spark.Now if the rectifier is bad,would that prevent the engine from turning over?

I have the same motor….I have an intermittent issue…it will not shut off using the key…..occasionally we have to shut the fuel off to shut it down….I want to wire in a kill switch….can you explain how to do this? Thanks!

I just got the same motor yesterday an looking to do the same guy said it turns over but I know nothing about boat motors how do I turn it over with out a boat I have battery … the wiring harness is also a lil messed up just looking for advise on first steps ty Amazibg video btw
