I have tried some H1 and H7 leds in fog lights…they worked ,but didn’t throw a good beam, and burned out very quickly…I’ll look around and try some again ..thanks for the info
Wish I remember what LED’s I ordered some time ago…
What LED’s have you tried? Pretty much even the cheapest LED’s from eBay I have seen installed are beating the halogen bulbs.
I haven’t found LED replacement headlights yet that are bright enough…have you tried any ? I would love to try them out it you can recommend some
If I were you I would install LED’s. They are MUCH brighter and they will last like forever.
you could just get brighter bulbs..like a Sylvania silverstar..I think they are around 30% brighter than stock halogen bulbs..If the lenses are foggy you can just replace the glass like in the video. There are new lenses available on Ebay etc.
I have a C280 w very dim headlights. Would like brighter, esp since my kid is about to start driving. Should I replace the whole unit or just brighter bulbs? What do you recommend? Plus the lenses look really foggy.

the third brake light is in 3 main parts.. the back which covers the bulb pulls out towards the front of the car after you push in the 2 side tabs..once that is off,grab the main body by the sides and pull the whole thing straight back in the same direction as removing the bulb cover (toward the front of the car..it just snaps onto the flat base which is mounted to the rear deck and tough to remove and not necessary to take out…then the wire just unplugs..if you need a new one PM me I have 1

I think some of the older lenses were glued on and need a ton of heat to melt the glue to remove the lens..if you can swap the whole housing it would be easier
what about the W201 190e? i have an 89 but im replacing them with the ones from the 1990 facelift. same thing? or should i go to a shop?

Awesome video! 🙂 I wanted to take my headlights apart but I wasn’t sure how to do it. I want to spray the High-beam housing yellow so they look like the headlights that older Mercs came with.
