Cool… Thanks again.

fupabox says:

the rear has no upper mounts..just a hole through the inner fender with a rubber bushing and washer on the upper shock shaft 1 on each side of the inner fender..very simple to do ,and the bushings come with the shock absorbers when you buy them

Miguel Flores says:

Thanks for the video, great stuff. I just replaced the strut mounts on my R129 following your instructions. Just one, question, are there any on the back? Please let me know if there are any and if you are going to post a video on how to replace those. Cheers.

Amazing work man, well done! Thanks a lot for the video, I learnt a lot. Bye, Alessia.

fupabox says:

you’re correct..the price of new mounts is nothing compared to repairing even a slightly damaged hood

Kenneth Martin says:

Trust me when I say this, you do not want this to break. if it does break it will leave a nasty dent going upward in the hood. Mine broke and has been sitting ever since because I thought this would be super costly, thank you for posting this. If anybody’s starts to crack save the hassle and fix it.

Ivan Gonzalez says:

i have the same problem and was the idler arm, you have to buy the idler arm repair kit and the noise is history. 😀

fupabox says:

ouch.. Try .rockauto.com

35 $ is cheap. 120$ here in Norway per unit!

fupabox says:

20 NM or 15 ftlbs for the 13mm mount bolts
80 NM or 60 ftlbs for the 21mm top strut bolt
sorry for not adding that info at the time I uploaded

by the way i knw about mbz E,S,C CLASS a lot so if youll have some quest about some repair feel free to ask ok?>

fupabox says:

Yes I agree it is easier with the wheels off..the purpose of leaving the wheel on was to show that the job could be done with very few tools.. I have a 1991 500sl and a 1997 c230…

onillino nimateelah says:

you should take off the wheels its easy i replace on my 500e w124 mercedes and i took off the wheels and its took me about 5 min to replace and put it back by the way what mercedes you work on?

fupabox says:

I’ve never had that problem on any Mercedes I’ve owned or worked on ..I did have a Volvo T5R that liked to come loose though..just use lock-tite blue threadlocker on the nut and you’ll be good to go

mbfanz says:

Have you ever have problems on that center nut getting loose after driving for a while (a week or so)? When the nut is loose, it makes a small banging sound when going thru bumps. That’s when I know it’s loose again. It’s kinda annoying and maybe dangerous. And it does that no matter how hard I tighten (maybe not hard enough?) the nut. Just wonder if you happen to know about this issue. And it’s an R129 too. 🙂

fupabox says:

very welcome :)
