Mercedes ML350 Oil Job

I have been told that Mobile 1 Oil is NOT what should be used on Mercedes even though the sticker under the hood calls for this oil. Also 10W-30 is NOT the r…

Thank you.

Great Video. It is a big help. The dealer wants $300 for this service. I am
going to try this myself. Just one question. Do you think after we pump out
all of the oil, should we put a quart of new oil in the place where the
filter was to drag any used motor oil residue out of the engine, and then
pump the oil out one more time?

Mike Fisher says:

Great video and very helpful. Thank you for sharing. I completed my 2nd oil
change today on my ML350.

tom katrivesis says:

can u just take off the drain plug to drain the oil, and should you heat
the engine before doing so?

Josh Aden says:

I would recommend leaving the oil cap on until you have removed the cover.
That will help to keep crap from falling into the engine. Also maybe don’t
use rags you found in the woods. haha

Brandon Smith says:

really using dirty rags to clean your filter housing

TAK WONG says:

Where do you buy the oring (red rubber) pls?

Charles Heil says:

Does that sucker get the dark shit out that’s in the bottom? Lazy. Nice
flip flops.
Don’t get your hands dirty.

Kévin Litteul says:

How do you reinitialize the on board computer after the oil have been
changed?

Charles Heil says:

Who told you that? What ever stickers say on the car is what you’re suppose
to use. What do you think they put them on there for?

Thanks for video. Mobil 1 can be used if you get 0w-40 which is 100 percent
approved to Mercedes spec 229.5. In fact every AMG even leaves the factory
with that oil and it’s approved for the other gasoline Mercedes too. A
great oil. Also check out Mann oil filter for this engine on amazon.
Cheaper than Mobil filter but 100 percent same as genuine mercedes filter.
Thanks again for awesome video!

Smokey Behr says:

yep you will see the new Mobil I oil 0W-40 and it will specify it’s for
Mercedes/BMW etc

Sam Julier says:

Excellent video. I would add only that you might consider an oil cap socket
(about $7.00 at FCPEuro) to allow you to torque the cap to the number on
the cap which I believe is 25 nm. Mobil 1 10W-30does not meet the MB 229.5
spec but 0W-40 does. Thanks for posting.
