simon plaza says:

Do you need to reprogram the key after you do this?

JT SpectreWriter says:

I watched a couple/few others and they didn’t demonstrate how to get the
battery holder out as your video did. It made my life a lot easier earlier
this evening. Thank you!

Flip Keys says:

Very true, I have even made a video for that with title ” Open old Mercedes
key” but sometimes the method you suggested doesn’t works if circuit gets
stuck. Too much pulling may destroy the circuit so the only best option is
to break the casing

peter bolton says:

found very usefull

Richard Young says:

That method looks like a lot of work. It could also damage the board with
all of the twisting and tearing. Why not just use a Dremel or some other
cutting or grinding tool to carefully cut down the narrow side of the key
and just pull it apart to remove the board.

Flip Keys says:

@simon plaza no need for reprogramming. You can use the key as it is after
circuit transfer.

Flip Keys says:

You have to harder if you don’t want to destroy the casing It takes patience

musiwa fortune says:

do you guys know someone selling the key shells in bulk?

Dan Hogan says:

I slipped a .003 feeler gage between the case and white locking strip and
was able do disassemble the case without destroying it

PocoLocoBob says:

Two questions; First, where’s the best place to buy a shell, and second…
it appears that one of my shells has “caved in” where the UNLOCK button is.
Do the PCB buttons themselves ever go? I think its actually pushing the
button down bc when I unlock the car, a few seconds later it re-locks
itself (bc the dented key fob is nearby).

BOOGLEE says:

Many thanks!! I was sweating a lot of bit, but managed to get it replaced.
Thanks for the video!!

Richard Young says:

I did one key by just breaking a little piece of plastic just inside the
fob and pulling out the board. This resulted in the lock switch being
knocked off of the board. I was lucky that the board pads were not damaged
and was able solder it back in place. I would not recommend the “pull it
out” approach and will be cutting the side of the key on my second one.

Jack London says:

I managed to open the key without actually braking it! You need to flip 1
side of the small white frame out first and start to pull out the board
from that side of the white plastic!

Mubashir Saleem says:

Hi can i put the internal thing into a new style key fob thanks.

Flip Keys says:

@Richard Young I have made this video for all those who doesn’t have
specialized tools to open this key. Yes this procedure is bit risky but you
have to be ultra careful while performing this so that all the force you
apply is used in breaking outer plastic and not on circuit itself

Flip Keys says:

I don’t think so. I have tried to do so but with little luck There is a
huge difference in design of circuit

simon plaza says:

@harisonkeys Thank you very much! I appreciate the info.

Flip Keys says:

If you want to buy this casing then we sell this…. Are you from India?

Flip Keys says:

@Richard Young ✂ cutting tool has their own disadvantage. You need to know
when to
