Thanks for the video. This is not a job for a guy with big hands. I found it very difficult. One thing I did that helped is that I attached a stiff wire to the battery holder (through the screw hole) to help move it around and so I wouldn’t lose the bracket under the dash. I found that the wires connecting to the terminals were too short to be able to get the battery out with the wires connected so I had to disconnect them while the battery was still behind the dash. Was eventually able to get it changed out. Thanks again!

You can also remove the steering wheel lower cover if having trouble getting to aux bat. It allows easy access to put bracket back on as well

Thank you for this video, saved me $300.00 at the dealership. Longest time spent was getting the battery into the holder, but with a bit of help from a plastic trim remover to hold it in place, I got it in and it went smoothly after that. I found geting it into the holder first and then attaching the wires worked better for me as I did not have as much slack in them as you had.

Great video. Any idea where the aux battery is on a 2013 E350 ? Search everywhere – can not find.

Richard Hartt says:

Thank you! Your video was a lot of help for what seemed like an easy 20 min swap. Became a real PITA hour plus ordeal! 2 things, 1. Be sure to separate the new battery from the old one (don't ask) and 2. Go ahead and remove the bottom dash cover. 3 tork screws and will save a lot of headache and scraped knuckles.
Thanks again!

Leave it to mercedes to put it in such a stupid location

Edit: After doing this on a w212 definitely remove the pedal kick panel and take it out from underneath

I did this but removed the panel underneath the steering wheel and it was still a pain. Can’t believe you got it in there like that.

Jaime Gutierrez says:

A bit confused about the fuse. Did you disconnect it?
