Turns out you don’t need those C-Clamps, you can use your bare hands to push in the calipers. It’s not that hard. What I could not figure out, was how to remove the rotors. They seem to be fused to the hubs. Do you need to remove the caliper frame too? or do you need some kind of special tool to extract the rotors?
The tip is it just a regular star? When my husband tried to take of my rotors none of his star tips would fit.
could you post the time on the video clip your referring to.
What is that piece of metal you removed after the calipers were removed? Looks like it had two bolts? What is that C-Clamp for?
Is this a w164? What all did you need to replace? pads, rotors, and brake sensors? Anything else?
This is the same for a 06
Awesome video. However you should only use drilled and slotted rotors for racing. The slots cut the life of the brake pads down drammatically by exposing new pad with each revolution. which is great for stoping on a dime and racing on the track, but a drilled rotor with ceramic pads is all a day to day driver should ever need.
I would recomend brembo over any stock rotors, and, no, there is no wind noise, lo.
how are the new rotors….rumor has it the drilled slots make a windy noise on the outside of the vehicle. Do you recommend these or the factory oem
thanks.
I need too do this for my ml also, would u recommend those slotted rotors ?
Look at 42 seconds into the video. Its a Red Jack next to the front sway bar. Thanks though for the tip
ARM and a Leg i bet!
I wouldn’t hurt to mention that this is W163, as majority of ML350’s out there are W164.
You havew to repace them. The rear are just as easy.
